Sharptooth was an American hardcore punk [3] band from Baltimore, Maryland, United States. Formed in 2013, [4] the band released two EPs and two studio albums, entitled Clever Girl (2017) [5] and Transitional Forms (2020), [6] before disbanding in 2023.
In May [7] 2017, Sharptooth signed to Pure Noise Records. [8] [9] The label features other bands such as Knocked Loose, Senses Fail, and Less Than Jake. [10]
In early 2018, the ensemble toured with Anti-Flag, Stray from the Path and The White Noise. [11] In May 2018, they then went on to tour with Senses Fail. [12] In mid-2018, the ensemble performed on every date of the last full US run of the Vans Warped Tour. [13] The quintet also opened for the first Cane Hill headlining tour in late 2018, [14] and supported As It Is in early 2019. [15] [16] [17]
In April 2019, the ensemble recorded their second studio album, [18] [19] [20] [21] [22] and travelled Europe with rock bands Comeback Kid, No Turning Back and Jesus Piece. [23] Once their tour in the Eastern Hemisphere was complete, it was followed in May 2019 by four concerts in Canada with Boundaries, Sudden Waves, Harriers and Cold Shoulder all supporting Canadian metal group Obey the Brave. In September 2019, the quintet returned to Canada to perform alongside Canadian punk rock bands Single Mothers and Cancer Bats, [25] and stated that they were working on their second studio album. [26] In November, the band released singles "Mean Brain" [27] and "Die for the Government", the latter being featured on Hopeless Records compilation album Songs That Saved My Life Vol. 2. [28] [29]
In May 2020, the group published "Say Nothing (In The Absence Of Content)", the first music video for Transitional Forms, their second studio album, released on 9 July 2020. [30] Almost one month later, the ensemble released "The Gray", another single from their upcoming album. [31]
On July 10, 2020, the band released their sophomore album, Transitional Forms. The day before the band also released a music video for their new song "Evolution (ft. Justin Sane from Anti-Flag)" premiering on revolvermag.com
On August 28, 2022, Lauren Kashan made an announcement on Instagram informing fans she had left the band over a year prior, citing a negative work environment and inability to self-express. The band responded on Instagram, saying they "will not be performing any songs written while Lauren was in the band", and that they are taking "a new direction." [32] On August 31, 2022, the band made an announcement introducing Marissa Ward, former vocalist of beatdown hardcore band Backswing, as their new vocalist, while also announcing that they released a new single "I Didn't Ask to Be Here", that same day. [33] Sharptooth's only EP with Ward on vocals, Imperfect Animal, was released on October 31, 2022. [34]
On November 28, 2023, Sharptooth announced their disbandment via a cryptic post on the band's social media pages, featuring an image stating "2013-2023" with the message "Thank You", [35] [36] and removed the Imperfect Animal EP from streaming services. [37] Shortly afterwards, Marissa Ward released a statement on Instagram stating that the band had quietly disbanded months before, while also stating that she experienced very similar circumstances with the band as Kashan, claiming that the band "belittled, mocked, disrespected and tokenized" her during her time with the band. Vince Bellino of Decibel magazine stated that the group has "earned a reputation up and down the east coast for their fierce political message and chaotic live shows". [5]
Metal Injection reviewed Clever Girl as "10/10" and referred to the album as "an explosive hardcore record that packs tons of aggressive blends of sound, and shows off lots of impressive techniques in the instrumental playing" as well as "an educational experience: for the things happening around us, the fears we’ve never had to experience, or the issues we may have not even been aware of". Metal Hammer named Transitional Forms as the 39th best metal album of 2020. [40]
Vanna was an American hardcore punk band from Boston that was formed in 2004. On December 15, 2017, the band played their final show at the Worcester Palladium.
Cancer Bats are a Canadian hardcore punk band from Toronto, Ontario. To date, they have released seven studio albums and six extended plays; with their most recent LP, Psychic Jailbreak, having been released on 15 April 2022. The band is currently composed of lead vocalist Liam Cormier, drummer Mike Peters and bassist/guitarist Jaye R. Schwarzer. The band are also currently joined by touring guitarist Jackson Landry, following the departure of founding guitarist Scott Middleton in 2021. The members of Cancer Bats have also toured and recorded as a Black Sabbath tribute band under the name Bat Sabbath.

Stick to Your Guns is an American hardcore punk band from Orange County, California. Members of the band include lead vocalist Jesse Barnett, bassist Andrew Rose, guitarists Chris Rawson and Josh James, and drummer Adam Galindo. They are currently signed with Pure Noise Records.
Eyes Set to Kill is an American post-hardcore and metalcore band from Tempe, Arizona. The Rodriguez sisters, lead guitarist Alexia and bassist Anissa, along with vocalist Lindsey Vogt started the band in 2003. After Lindsey's departure, Alexia assumed her position as lead vocalist as well as guitarist. Anissa left in late 2016 but returned to the band in 2023.
I See Stars are an American electronicore band from Warren, Michigan formed in 2006. The band currently consists of lead vocalist Devin Oliver, guitarist Brent Allen, keyboardist and co-vocalist Andrew Oliver, and bass guitarist Jeff Valentine.

Of Mice & Men is an American rock band formed in Costa Mesa, California, in 2009. The band's line-up currently consists of drummer Valentino Arteaga, guitarists Phil Manansala and Alan Ashby, and bassist and lead vocalist Aaron Pauley. The group was founded by former lead vocalist Austin Carlile and former bassist Jaxin Hall in mid-2009 after Carlile's departure from Attack Attack!. Carlile departed from the band in December 2016 citing that a long-term health condition prompted his exit. After Carlile's departure, the band continued to pursue creating music with Pauley as the band's bassist and lead vocalist.
The Word Alive is an American metalcore band formed in Phoenix, Arizona, in 2008. The band was signed to Fearless Records since their formation. In 2022, they changed their label and signed to Thriller Records. The band currently consists of vocalist Tyler Smith, guitarists Zack Hansen and Jose DelRio, and drummer Daniel Nelson. The group has had several line-up changes throughout their career, with Hansen as the only remaining founding member. Their second EP, Empire reached No. 15 on the Top Heatseekers, meeting a great amount of positive acclaim upon its release in 2009. The following year, the group recorded and released their debut studio album, Deceiver on August 31, 2010, which reached No. 97 on the Billboard 200 and 15 on Independent Albums.
Ice Nine Kills is an American heavy metal band from Boston, Massachusetts, who are signed to Fearless Records. Best known for its horror-inspired lyrics, Ice Nine Kills formed in its earliest incarnation in 2000 by high school friends Spencer Charnas and Jeremy Schwartz. Charnas is currently the only remaining founding member.

Issues was an American metalcore band based in Atlanta, Georgia, founded in 2012. The band's final lineup consisted of guitarist and vocalist AJ Rebollo, bassist and vocalist Skyler Acord, and drummer Josh Manuel. They were known for their combination of metalcore, nu metal, pop and contemporary R&B.

Volumes is an American progressive metalcore band formed in Los Angeles, California in 2009. The group currently consists of bassist Raad Soudani, vocalists Michael Barr and Myke Terry, and drummer Nick Ursich. Throughout the band's history, bassist Raad Soudani has remained the only constant member. They are currently signed to Fearless Records and have released four studio albums: Via (2011), No Sleep (2014), Different Animals (2017) and Happier? (2021). They have also released three EPs: The Concept of Dreaming (2010), Coming Clean (2019) and Bend(ed) (2022).
Oceans Ate Alaska are a British metalcore band hailing from Birmingham formed in 2010. The band was signed to Fearless Records and are known for "uniting boundaries between multiple genres in modern metal" and for "fusing unpredictable polyrhythms and sporadic partnering of melodic and dissonant passages". Original vocalist, James Harrison came up with the band name; naming it after the 1958 Lituya Bay earthquake and megatsunami that swallowed one of Alaska’s gulfs.
Tilian Pearson, also known mononymously as Tilian, is an American singer-songwriter, musician and record producer born in Clearwater, Florida. Since 2012 he has been the third clean vocalist for the post-hardcore band Dance Gavin Dance. Pearson began his music career as the lead vocalist and guitarist in the progressive rock band Tides of Man, releasing an extended play and two studio albums before leaving in 2010.
Myka Relocate was an American metalcore band formed in Lafayette, Louisiana in 2007, later based in Houston, Texas. The band has released three studio albums, Self Portrait as a Frozen Father, Lies to Light the Way and The Young Souls in addition to taking part in four annual South by So What?! music festivals between 2012 and 2015 as well as the 2016 SO WHAT! Music Festival. The band is credited with being able to successfully combine electronic elements, guttural screaming and pop vocals.
The White Noise was an American punk rock band from Dallas, Texas, later based in Los Angeles, California. Formed in 2010 under the name Set the Sun by guitarist and vocalist David Southern and drummer Alex Summers, the band released two EPs and a series of singles while still based in Dallas. By 2013, Southern was left the sole founding member and recruited vocalist Shawn Walker and guitarist Josh "KJ" Strock. This lineup would relocate to Los Angeles and change their name to the White Noise. In total, the band released three EPs, in addition to one studio album, 2017's AM/PM.
Varials is an American metalcore band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, formed in October 2013. The band currently consists of lead vocalist Mitchell Rogers, guitarist James Hohenwarter, bassist Mike Foley and drummer Sean Rauchut.
Obey the Brave was a Canadian hardcore punk band From Montreal, Quebec and Ottawa, Ontario. Formed in 2012, the band features Despised Icon singer Alex Erian on vocals as well as Blind Witness bassist Miguel Lepage, guitarists John Campbell and Greg Wood, and drummer Stevie Morotti. By the middle of 2012, just over half a year after becoming a band, the metalcore act found itself signed to iconic label Good Fight, with the EP, Ups And Downs, released in 2012. They signed to the label Epitaph, with the band's debut studio album, Young Blood, released in August of that same year. A sophomore album, Salvation, followed in 2014. The third album Mad Season was followed up in 2017. The fourth album Balance was followed up in 2019.
