Taranga or Tharanga is a major Kannada weekly family interest magazine, published in Karnataka, India, which has its headquarters in Manipal, Karnataka. [4] [5] [6] [7]

Contents

Taranga covers topics such as short stories, poems, serialized fiction, spirituality, health, travel and technology, cookery, fashion, beauty, film news, sports, culture etc. It publishes cartoons too, on politics society. [1]

For the past 15 years, Sandhya Pai [8] has been the Managing editor, of the magazine. [1]

History

Taranga was launched on trial on 28 November 1982 in Manipal, and had its official launch on 2 January 1983. The inaugural price of the first edition was 1.50. [1]

<i>Sandhya Raga</i>

Sandhya Raga is a 1966 Indian Kannada film, directed by A. C. Narasimha Murthy and co-produced by him along with A. Prabhakara Rao. The film stars Rajkumar, Udaykumar, Narasimharaju and K. S. Ashwath in the lead roles. The film has musical score by G. K. Venkatesh.

Satish Acharya Indian cartoonist

Satish Acharya is an Indian cartoonist from Kundapura, Karnataka. In 2015, Acharya was featured on "United Sketches" as a professional cartoonist from India. He's a cartoonist popularly known for criticism of the ruling right-wing government of India.

<i>RangiTaranga</i> 2015 film by Anup Bhandari

RangiTaranga is a 2015 Indian Kannada language mystery thriller film written and directed by Anup Bhandari in his debut, and produced by H.K.Prakash under the Production house Shree Devi Entertainers. It features debutantes Nirup Bhandari, Radhika Chetan and Avantika Shetty, and Saikumar in the lead roles. Anup Bhandari said that in writing story for the film, he took inspiration from "Dennana Dennana", a track that featured as the theme song in the 1990s Kannada television soap Guddada Bhoota. In addition to directing the film, Bhandari also scored for its soundtrack, also penning its lyrics. It featured cinematography by US-based cinematographers Lance Kaplan and William David, the former of who, had previously collaborated with Bhandari on a short film.

<i>Rajaratha</i>

Rajaratha is a 2018 Indian Kannada romantic comedy film written and directed by Anup Bhandari who also composed the film's music. It stars Nirup Bhandari and Avantika Shetty in the lead roles in their second collaboration with the director after the success of RangiTaranga. The film was dubbed in Telugu as Rajaratham with Rana Daggubati replacing Puneeth Rajkumar as the narrator. Arya, who made his debut in Kannada cinema for the first time with the film, features in a supporting role alongside P. Ravishankar. While the film score is composed by B. Ajaneesh Loknath, the soundtrack is composed by Anup Bhandari. The cinematography is by William David.
