Karl Fredrik Lukas Moodysson is a Swedish novelist, short story writer and film director. First coming to prominence as an ambitious poet in the 1980s, he had his big domestic and international breakthrough directing the 1998 romantic film Show Me Love. He has since directed a string of films with different styles and public appeal, as well as continued to write both poetry and novels. In 2007, The Guardian ranked Moodysson eleventh in its list of the world’s best directors, describing his directorial style as “heartfelt and uncompromising.”
Swedish cinema is known for including many acclaimed films; during the 20th century the industry was the most prominent of Scandinavia. This is largely due to the popularity and prominence of directors Victor Sjöström and especially Ingmar Bergman; and more recently Roy Andersson, Lasse Hallström, Lukas Moodysson and Ruben Östlund.
Ted Arnbjörn Gärdestad was a Swedish singer, songwriter, musician and actor known internationally as Ted. Gärdestad began his acting career in 1966 and began playing music in 1971, signing with Polar Music. Assigned with in-house producers Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, Gärdestad released his first single, "Hela världen runt," in late 1971 and worked closely with the four members of ABBA to create his debut album Undringar (1972). As Polar Music's best-selling solo artist, he continued to work with the group members throughout the 1970s, releasing three more albums Ted (1973), Upptåg (1974) and Franska Kort (1976), which were moderately successful. In 1978, Gärdestad released his first English-language album, Blue Virgin Isles, which did not have success internationally, as his predecessor albums had in his home country.
Rolf Åke Mikael Nyqvist was a Swedish actor. Educated at the School of Drama in Malmö, he became well known for playing police officer Banck in the 1997–1998 Martin Beck TV series and for his leading role in the 2002 film Grabben i graven bredvid. He was internationally recognized for his role as Mikael Blomkvist in the acclaimed Millennium series and as the lead villains in Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol and John Wick. In 2004, he played the leading role in As It Is in Heaven which was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the 77th Academy Awards.

Shanti Grau Roney is a Swedish actor. While his film credits include nearly twenty movies, most of these have been limited to a domestic or Scandinavian release. One notable exception is Lukas Moodysson's film Together (2000) which gathered acclaim at film festivals worldwide.
Skärgårdsdoktorn is a Swedish television series produced by SVT Drama. The series ran from 1997 to 2000 and a total of 18 episodes were produced. In English, the title could be translated as The archipelago doctor, and it came to be one of the most popular Swedish TV series of the 1990s. With an average viewership of approximately 2.5 million it is considered one of the greatest successes of SVT Drama. Created by Lars Bill Lundholm and Gunilla Linn Persson, the first 8 episodes were directed by Martin Asphaug. The series was also broadcast in Norway, Finland and Denmark.
Litteris et Artibus is a Swedish royal medal established in 1853 by Charles XV of Sweden, who was then crown prince. It is awarded to people who have made important contributions to culture, especially music, dramatic art and literature.
Mera ur kärlekens språk is a 1970 Swedish sex educational film directed by Torgny Wickman. It is a sequel to the 1969 film Language of Love and had a sequel in 1971, Kärlekens XYZ. In 1973 the three films were edited together into a new film, Det bästa ur Kärlekens språk-filmerna. The film dealt more with alternative sexuality and life styles and the disabled but was equally successful financially as Language of Love.
Samfundet De Nio is a Swedish literary society founded on 14 February 1913 in Stockholm by a testamentary donation from writer Lotten von Kraemer. The society has nine members who are elected for life. Its purpose is to promote Swedish literature, peace and women's issues. It mainly presents a number of literary awards. It was started as an alternative to the Swedish Academy and is often compared to its more noted cousin.
Wallander - Mastermind is a 2005 film about the Swedish police detective Kurt Wallander directed by Peter Flinth.
Noomi Rapace is a Swedish actress. She achieved international fame with her portrayal of Lisbeth Salander in the Swedish film adaptations of the Millennium series (2009): The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played with Fire, and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest. For her performance in the Millennium series, Rapace won amongst others two Nymphe d'Ors, a Guldbagge Award, and a Satellite Award as Best Actress, and was nominated for a BAFTA Award, an International Emmy Award and a European Film Award. Following the success of the Millennium series, Rapace has gone on to star in American movies.
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is a 2009 Swedish-Danish crime thriller film with German co-production directed by Niels Arden Oplev from a screenplay by Rasmus Heisterberg and Nikolaj Arcel and produced by Søren Stærmose, based on the 2005 novel of the same name by Swedish writer Stieg Larsson, the first entry in his Millennium series. The film stars Michael Nyqvist and Noomi Rapace.
Jerusalem is a film which was released to cinemas in Sweden on 6 September 1996, directed by Bille August, based on the two-part novel Jerusalem by Selma Lagerlöf. The film, also broadcast as a TV-series, was a Scandinavian co-production headed by Svensk Filmindustri. The film was selected as the Swedish entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 69th Academy Awards, but was not accepted as a nominee.
Stall-Erik och snapphanarna is a Swedish film project directed by and starring Anders Olofsson. The narrative is set between 1658 and the early 18th century and tells the story of the snapphanar, a pro-Danish guerrilla movement that fought against Sweden in the 17th century. Olofsson, an amateur filmmaker who works as a cleaner by day, began to shoot the film in 1996. His ability to recruit many established actors, as well as the long production process, has received publicity in several regional and national newspapers. The film was set to be finished in 2020. However, in early 2020, Olofsson set a goal to involve 100 celebrities in the film, and thus revised his estimated completion time to 2025.
Marianne is a 1953 Swedish drama film directed by Egil Holmsen and starring Margit Carlqvist, Gunnar Hellström and Eva Stiberg. It was shot at the Sundbyberg Studios in Stockholm.
Together 99 is a 2023 Swedish-Danish comedy-drama film written and directed by Lukas Moodysson. A sequel to his 2000 film Together (Tillsammans), the film revisits the commune of Together in 1999 when Göran and Klasse, as the only remaining residents of the community, decide to organize a reunion of their old friends.
