Vijay Maurya is an Indian actor, screenwriter and director who works in Indian films and theatre. [1] He is best known for his work in the 2019 film Gully Boy. [2]
Maurya began his career in theatre by enrolling in a workshop under Satyadev Dubey for acting. He was an integral part of Prithvi Theatre from 1993 to 2008. He has worked in 14 original plays which have had a total of over 2500 shows. Some of his plays include Meena Kumari, Airawat, Solah Saal Ka Aakash, Jungle Ke Paar, Laila, Sa Hi Besura. The play Sa Hi Besura [3] has been his most popular running successfully with over a 100 shows.
Maurya has acted in critically acclaimed films like Nishikant Kamat's Mumbai Meri Jaan [4] and Anurag Kashyap's [5] Black Friday . [6] He is also a screenwriter and has won a National Film Award for Best Screenplay for the film Chillar Party along with Nitesh Tiwari and Vikas Bahl at the 59th National Film Awards. [7] His latest film Gully Boy as a dialogue writer and supporting actor has been well received both critically and commercially.
Maurya made his digital debut as a director with the Amazon Original series Crash Course, created, produced and written by former UTV Motion Pictures associate Manish Hariprasad and co-written by Raina Roy.
Having directed over a 150 commercials, Maurya is known for his witty sense of humour and has directed commercials for a number of Indian and International brands. He continues to work as an ad-film director along with his film commitments.

Deewaar is a 1975 Indian action crime drama film written by Salim–Javed and directed by Yash Chopra. Released worldwide on 24 January 1975, the film stars an ensemble cast of Shashi Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Neetu Singh, Nirupa Roy, Parveen Babi, Iftekhar, Madan Puri, Satyen Kappu and Manmohan Krishna. The music was composed by R. D. Burman. The film tells the story of a pair of impoverished brothers who, after their family is betrayed by the misplaced idealism of their father, struggle to survive in the slums of Mumbai, and eventually find themselves on opposing sides of the law. The title Deewaar ("wall") signifies the wall that has sprung up between the two brothers, drawn apart by fate and circumstances in a time of socio-political turmoil.
Amrita Rao is an Indian actress who primarily works in Hindi films. Rao made her acting debut with Ab Ke Baras (2002), which earned her a nomination for Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. Rao won the IIFA Award for Star Debut of the Year – Female, for her portrayal of a college student in the romantic drama Ishq Vishk (2003), her first commercial success. Euphoria is an Indian pop rock band formed by Dr. Palash Sen in 1998 in Delhi, India. The name "Euphoria", is a term used in Psychiatry to describe a feeling one gets in the state of Mania, was decided upon by Sen, who at the time was a student of medicine at the University College of Medical Sciences, Delhi. Zoya Akhtar is an Indian film director and screenwriter who works in Hindi cinema. Born to Javed Akhtar and Honey Irani, she completed a diploma in filmmaking from NYU and assisted directors Mira Nair, Tony Gerber and Dev Benegal, before becoming an independent writer and director. Mumbai Meri Jaan is a 2008 Indian drama film directed by Nishikant Kamat and produced by Ronnie Screwvala. It stars R. Madhavan, Irrfan Khan, Soha Ali Khan, Paresh Rawal and Kay Kay Menon. It deals with the aftermath of the 11 July 2006 Mumbai train bombings, where 209 people lost their lives and over 700 were injured. It won multiple Filmfare Awards.

Inspired by the lives of Indian street rappers DIVINE and Naezy, the film is a coming-of-age story about aspiring street rapper Murad Ahmed (Singh), from the Dharavi slums of Mumbai.
