The World League eSport Bundesliga was a German professional electronic sports league featuring the Counter-Strike , Counter-Strike: Source and FIFA 06 series. [1] It has its own TV-show, broadcast by the German television channel Deutsches Sportfernsehen. Jana Ina and Giovanni Zarrella are the hosts of the show. The only game that was played at the season World League eSport Bundesliga was FIFA 06. The competitors fought for prize money of €50,000. From December 2005 until May 2006 there was a postseason, in which prize money of €45,825 was paid out.

Counter-Strike (CS) is a series of multiplayer first-person shooter video games, in which teams of terrorists battle to perpetrate an act of terror and counter-terrorists try to prevent it. The series began on Windows in 1999 with the first game, Counter-Strike. It was initially released as a modification ("mod") for Half-Life and designed by Minh "Gooseman" Le and Jess "Cliffe" Cliffe before the rights to the game's intellectual property were acquired by Valve Corporation, the developers of Half-Life.

Counter-Strike: Source is a first-person shooter video game developed by Valve and Turtle Rock Studios. Released in November 2004 for Microsoft Windows, it is a remake of Counter-Strike (1999) using the Source game engine. As in the original, Counter-Strike: Source pits a team of counter-terrorists against a team of terrorists in a series of rounds. Each round is won either by completing an objective or by eliminating all members of the enemy team. The game was initially bundled with all retail and digital copies of Half-Life 2 before being released standalone.

FIFA 06, also known as FIFA Soccer 06, is a video game developed by EA Canada and published by Electronic Arts based on the game of football. It was released in the United States on 4 October 2005 for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube, Windows, and Nintendo DS. It was later released for PlayStation Portable, Game Boy Advance, and mobile phones.

League structure

The structure of the World League eSport Bundesliga is based on the German Bundesliga. Each league consists of 18 players and all games of the first Bundesliga are played at the CineStar IMAX it the Sony Center in Berlin.

Besides the five leagues there is the ESBL Trophy which is similar to the DFB-Pokal. All Contesters of the 1. Bundesliga, 2. Bundesliga, 3. Bundesliga and Oberliga take part in this tournament. At the Quarterfinals and above the matches are also played in the so-called eSportstadium at the CineStar IMAX it the Sony Center in Berlin.

DFB-Pokal cup for German knockout football cup comptetion held BV annually

The DFB-Pokal[ˈdeː ʔɛf beː poˈkaːl] is a German knockout football cup competition held annually by the Deutscher Fußball-Bund (DFB). Sixty-four teams participate in the competition, including all clubs from the Bundesliga and the 2. Bundesliga. It is considered the second-most important club title in German football after the Bundesliga championship. Taking place from August until June, the winner qualifies for the DFL-Supercup and the UEFA Europa League unless the winner already qualifies for the UEFA Champions League in the Bundesliga.

They played under the name of Dallas Venom as a franchise of the DirecTV Championship Gaming Series in 2007 and 2008. Afterwards with the same Counter-Strike roster it reverted to the name Jax Money Crew. The manager of the team was Alex "Jax" Conroy who founded the team while living in Southport, Connecticut.

StarLadder & i-League Berlin Major 2019

The StarLadder & i-League Berlin Major 2019, also known as StarLadder Major 2019 or Berlin 2019, will be the fifteenth Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Major Championship. It will be held in Berlin, Germany from August 20 to September 8, 2019. Fourteen teams will qualify for this Major based on their top fourteen placements from the last Major, the Intel Extreme Masters Season XIII – World Championship Major, while another ten teams would qualify from their respective regional qualifiers. It features a $1,000,000 USD prize pool and twenty-four professional teams from around the world as with previous Majors. It is also the first time the Ukrainian-based organization StarLadder will be hosting a Major along with its long-term Chinese partner ImbaTV. The Berlin Major will be the eighth consecutive major with a prize pool of $1,000,000 since Valve announced the prize pool increase from $250,000 at MLG Columbus 2016.
