David Bone Nightingale Jack was an English footballer who played as an inside forward. He scored 267 goals from 490 appearances in the Football League playing for Plymouth Argyle, Bolton Wanderers and Arsenal. He was the first footballer to be transferred for a fee in excess of £10,000, was the first to score at Wembley – in the 1923 FA Cup Final – and was capped nine times for England. After retiring as a player, he managed Southend United, Middlesbrough and Shelbourne.

The 1886–87 season was the 16th season of competitive football (soccer) in England.

David Danskin was a Scottish mechanical engineer and footballer. He was a principal founding member of Dial Square F.C., later renamed Royal Arsenal, the team that are today known as Arsenal.

The history of Arsenal Football Club between 1886 and 1966 covers the time from the club's foundation, through the first two major periods of success and the club's subsequent decline in the early 1960s.

The 1886–87 English football season was the first in which the club that was to become Arsenal Football Club competed. At the Dial Square workshop in the Royal Arsenal, Kent, munition workers agreed to expand the Dial Square Cricket Club to incorporate an amateur football team – Dial Square Football Club. Among the several workers who helped form the club, the men primarily responsible were David Danskin, Elijah Watkins and Fred Beardsley. The team played their first game on 11 December 1886 in Millwall against a pub team called Eastern Wanderers, Dial Square won 6–0 with unknown goal scorers.

Isaac Owens (1881–1916) was an English footballer who played as an inside left or centre forward in the Football League for Woolwich Arsenal and Grimsby Town. He also played non-league football for Darlington, Bishop Auckland, Crook Town, Plymouth Argyle, Bristol Rovers and Crystal Palace.
