Robert Stanford Brown, nicknamed "The Boomer" is a former American football offensive tackle in the National Football League from 1964 through 1973. He was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles as the second overall pick in the 1964 NFL draft. He played for the Eagles from 1964 to 1968, the Los Angeles Rams from 1969 to 1970, and the Oakland Raiders from 1971 to 1973. He played college football at Nebraska. Brown was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1993 and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2004.
Joe Childress was a running back in the National Football League. He played college football for the Auburn Tigers.
Donald Dwain Brumm is a former American football defensive lineman in the National Football League (NFL) for the St. Louis Cardinals and the Philadelphia Eagles. He went to one Pro Bowl during his ten-year career. Brumm played college football at Purdue University and was drafted in the first round of the 1963 NFL Draft. He was also selected in the third round of the 1963 AFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs.
Raymond Coy Poage Jr. was an American football tight end in the National Football League.
The 1963 Green Bay Packers season was their 45th season overall and their 43rd season in the National Football League. The two-time defending NFL champions finished with an 11–2–1 record under fifth-year head coach Vince Lombardi for a second-place finish in the Western Conference, a half game back.
The 2000 season was the Philadelphia Eagles' 68th in the National Football League and their second under head coach Andy Reid. They improved on their 5–11 record from 1999 and resulted in a postseason appearance for the first time since 1996. Their season started in Dallas, with the game famously known for the onside kick that the Eagles kicked and recovered to start the game. This game is known as the Pickle Juice Game, as the Philadelphia players were given pickle juice by Andy Reid in order to prepare for the high temperature in Dallas that day. The Eagles won the game, 41–14.
The 1960 Philadelphia Eagles season was the franchise's 28th season in the National Football League, and finished with the Eagles' win over the Green Bay Packers in the NFL championship game to get their third league title. The victory over the Packers was also the first and only playoff defeat of the Packers' Vince Lombardi's coaching career. The 1960 season was the Eagles' first postseason appearance since their last NFL championship season of 1949. It was their only postseason appearance in the 28 seasons from 1950 to 1977, and their last NFL title until their victory in Super Bowl LII, 57 years later.

Ralph Peter Goldston was a running back and defensive back in the Canadian Football League who played nine seasons for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. He helped the Tiger-Cats to two Grey Cup wins in 1957 and 1963. He was a 4 time all-star with the Ti-Cats, intercepting 32 passes and returning them for 416 yards. Goldston finished his career with the Montreal Alouettes in 1965. He was selected in the 1952 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles and he played four seasons for the Eagles. After retiring as an active player, Goldston spent 30 years as a college coach and finally a scout for the Seattle Seahawks.
The 1963 Navy Midshipmen football team represented the United States Naval Academy as an independent in the 1963 NCAA University Division football season. Led by fifth-year head coach Wayne Hardin, the Midshipmen finished the year with an overall record of 9–2 and a loss against Texas in the Cotton Bowl Classic.

The 1963 Boston College Eagles football team represented Boston College as an independent during the 1963 NCAA University Division football season. Led by second-year head coach Jim Miller, the Eagles compiled a record of 6–3. Boston College played home games at Alumni Stadium in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. A historical note: The game slated to be played at Fenway Park on November 23 between BC and BU was cancelled because of the assassination of President Kennedy on the Friday before the scheduled game.
