The 2013 WNBA season is the 8th season for the Chicago Sky of the Women's National Basketball Association.

Contents

With the addition of Elena Delle Donne, expectations were high for the Sky to finally reach the playoffs. Delle Donne, along with Sylvia Fowles, Epiphanny Prince, Courtney Vandersloot, and Swin Cash finished the regular season with the best record in the Eastern Conference - thus giving the Sky, their first regular season Conference title and the first seed in the 2013 WNBA Playoffs. The Sky were ultimately swept in the Conference Semifinals by the Indiana Fever.

Elena Delle Donne is an American professional basketball player for the Washington Mystics of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Delle Donne played college basketball for the Delaware Blue Hens from 2009 to 2013. She was drafted by the Chicago Sky with the second overall pick of the 2013 WNBA draft, and led the Sky to the 2014 WNBA Finals, where they were defeated by the Phoenix Mercury. Delle Donne was traded to the Washington Mystics in 2017 and led them to their first WNBA championship in 2019.

The Women's National Basketball Association Peak Performer Awards are given each year to players who lead the WNBA in scoring, rebounding, and assists. The award has been given since the league's inaugural season, but the honor has varied since then.

The 2010 WNBA season was the 5th season for the Chicago Sky of the Women's National Basketball Association. This was the first season for the Sky in Allstate Arena. The Sky previously played at UIC Pavilion.

The Minnesota Lynx won their second league championship, defeating the Atlanta Dream three games to none in the 2013 WNBA Finals. The year represented a positive turning point for the long-struggling league. Both attendance and television viewership were up, driven by an influx of talented rookies, multiple teams reported that they were near a break-even point, and at least one franchise announced that it was profitable.

The 2017 WNBA All-Star Game was an exhibition basketball game played on July 22, 2017. The Seattle Storm hosted a WNBA All-Star Game for the first time.

The 2017 WNBA season was the 10th season for the Atlanta Dream of the Women's National Basketball Association. The team began its season on May 21, 2017 against the Chicago Sky, in its new interim home of McCamish Pavilion on the Georgia Tech campus. The Dream had a strong start to the season posting a 4–1 record in May. However, the team finished 1–6 in June, falling under .500. The team couldn't recover its form for the rest of the season finishing a combined 7–15 in the last three months of the season. Their final record of 12–22 placed them 5th in the Eastern Conference, and failed to qualify the team for the playoffs.

The 2018 WNBA season was the 22nd season of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). The Minnesota Lynx are the defending champions. The regular season began on May 18, with the Phoenix Mercury hosting the Dallas Wings. The season ended with the Seattle Storm defeating the Washington Mystics 3-0 in the WNBA Finals. This was the third championship for the Storm. Seattle's Breanna Stewart was named regular season and finals MVP.
