The Montana Grizzlies football program represents the University of Montana in the Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) of college football. The Grizzlies have competed in the Big Sky Conference since 1963, where it is a founding member. They play their home games on campus in Missoula at Washington–Grizzly Stadium, where they had an average attendance of 25,377 in 2016.

Beau Daniel Baldwin is an American football coach and former player. He is the head football coach at California Polytechnic State University, a position he has held since December 2019. Baldwin previously served as the head football coach at Central Washington University in 2007 and at Eastern Washington University from 2008 to 2016. He led the 2010 Eastern Washington Eagles football team to an NCAA Division I Football Championship. Baldwin was the offensive coordinator at University of California, Berkeley from 2017 to 2019.

The Bobcats were led by sixth-year head coach Rob Ash and played their home games at Bobcat Stadium. They were a member of the Big Sky Conference. They finished the season 11–2, 7–1 in Big Sky play to share the conference championship with Cal Poly and Eastern Washington. The received an at–large bid into the FCS playoffs where they defeated Stony Brook in the second round before falling to Sam Houston State in the quarterfinals. It was the second straight year the Bobcats were knocked out of the playoffs by Sam Houston State.

They received the Big Sky's automatic bid into the FCS Playoffs where they defeated Wagner in the second round and Illinois State in the quarterfinals before falling in the semifinals to Sam Houston State.

Cooper Douglas Kupp is an American football wide receiver for the Los Angeles Rams of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Eastern Washington, where he won the Walter Payton Award as a junior, and was selected by the Rams in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Kupp had a breakout season in 2021 when he became the fourth NFL player to lead the league in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns. He received the Offensive Player of the Year Award and was the MVP of Super Bowl LVI.
Vernon Anthony Adams Jr. is an American professional Canadian football quarterback who is currently a member of the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football for the Eastern Washington Eagles and Oregon Ducks. He has also been a member of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Saskatchewan Roughriders.
