The 2023 USC Trojans football team represented the University of Southern California (USC) as a member of the Pac-12 Conference during the 2023 NCAA Division I FBS football season. In their second year under head coach Lincoln Riley, the Trojans were preseason picks to win the Pac-12 championship, but compiled a 7–5 record (5–4 against conference opponents) during the regular season. The team began the season by winning six consecutive games but lost five of their final six games, including losses to rivals Notre Dame and UCLA. The unranked Trojans defeated No. 16 Louisville in the 2023 Holiday Bowl. [1]

The season was USC's last season as a member of the Pac-12 Conference before joining the Big Ten Conference on July 1, 2024.

The Trojans played their home games at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles.

Preseason

USC's spring football game was held on April 15, 2023 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The defense (white team) defeated the offense (red team) by a 42-34 score. [2] [3]

The Pac-12 Media Day was held on July 21, 2023, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Head coach Lincoln Riley, quarterback Caleb Williams, and linebacker Mason Cobb represented USC at the event. USC was picked to finish first in the conference, receiving 25 out of a possible 36 first-place votes.[ citation needed ]

The team is led by head coach Justin Wilcox, in his sixth year. The team plays their home games at California Memorial Stadium as a member of the Pac-12 Conference.

The 2022 Arizona State Sun Devils football team represented Arizona State University as a member of as a member of the Pac-12 Conference during the 2022 NCAA Division I FBS football season. After starting the season with 1–2, head coach Herm Edwards was fired on September 18. Shaun Aguano took over as interim head coach. The Sun Devils played their home games at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe Arizona. The Sun Devils went 3-9, their worst season since 1946. This season is also the worst attended season since 1968, averaging 43,081 for the six home games.

The 2022 Utah Utes football team represented the University of Utah as a member of the Pac-12 Conference during the 2022 NCAA Division I FBS football season. Led by 18th-year head coach Kyle Whittingham the Utes played their home games at Rice–Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City. The Utes finished the season 10–4, 7–2 in Pac-12 play to finish in a three-way tie for second place. Due to tiebreaking rules, Utah received the bid to the Pac 12 Championship Game. There they defeated No. 4-ranked USC for the second time on the season to win the conference championship. As a result, for the second consecutive year they received a bid to the Rose Bowl, where they lost to Penn State.

The 2022 Washington State Cougars football team represented Washington State University during the 2022 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Cougars played their home games at Martin Stadium in Pullman, Washington, and competed as members of the Pac–12 Conference. They were led by head coach Jake Dickert, in his second season.

The 2023 UCLA Bruins football team represented the University of California, Los Angeles in the Pac-12 Conference during the 2023 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Bruins were led by Chip Kelly in his sixth and final season at UCLA. They played their home games at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. The season was the team's last season as members of Pac-12 before joining the Big Ten Conference in 2024.

The Huskies were led by Kalen DeBoer in his second and final season as Washington's head coach, before leaving for Alabama at the end of the season. They played their home games at Husky Stadium in Seattle. 2023 was Washington's final season in the Pac-12 Conference before moving to the Big Ten Conference in 2024.

The 2023 Stanford Cardinal football team represented Stanford University in the Pac-12 Conference during the 2023 NCAA Division I FBS football season. Led by new head coach Troy Taylor, the Cardinal played its home games on campus at Stanford Stadium in Stanford, California.

The 2023 Arizona Wildcats football team represented the University of Arizona as a member of the Pac-12 Conference during the 2023 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Wildcats were led by third-year head coach Jedd Fisch and played home games at Arizona Stadium in Tucson, Arizona. 2023 was Arizona's 124th season of competition and the program's 45th and final year in the Pac-12 Conference before it joined the Big 12 Conference in 2024.
