Austin Jay Simcox (born June 22,1994) is an American former professional baseball shortstop. Previously,he played college baseball for the Tennessee Volunteers for the University of Tennessee. He was drafted in the 14th round of the 2015 Major League Baseball draft by the Detroit Tigers.
Simcox attended Farragut High School in Knoxville,Tennessee. He played for the school's baseball team as a shortstop and pitcher,but a back injury prevented him from pitching in his sophomore year. [1] The Colorado Rockies selected Simcox in the 32nd round,with the 978th overall selection,of the 2012 Major League Baseball (MLB) draft. [2] He opted not to sign,and enrolled at the University of Tennessee to play college baseball for the Tennessee Volunteers. [3] After his sophomore season in 2014,he played collegiate summer baseball for the Yarmouth–Dennis Red Sox of the Cape Cod Baseball League,where he batted .224 in 48 games, [4] and helped lead the Red Sox to the league championship. The Detroit Tigers selected Simcox in the 14th round,with the 430th overall selection,of the 2015 MLB draft. [6] [7] He signed with the Tigers, [8] and played for four games with the Gulf Coast Tigers of the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League before he was promoted to the Connecticut Tigers of the Class A-Short Season New York-Penn League. After playing in 25 games for Connecticut,he was also promoted to the West Michigan Whitecaps of the Class A Midwest League. [9] [10] [11] He posted a .330 batting average with one home runs and 21 RBIs in 49 games between the three clubs. In 2016,he played for the Lakeland Flying Tigers of the Class A-Advanced Florida State League,where he batted .262 with five home runs and 51 RBIs. [12] Simcox spent 2017 with the Erie SeaWolves where he posted a .250 batting average,eight home runs,36 RBIs,and 12 stolen bases. [13]
Simcox split the 2018 season between Erie and Lakeland,slashing .219/.281/.315 with 4 home runs and 42 RBI between the two teams. In 2019,Simcox again spent the season with Erie and Lakeland,hitting .250/.306/.344 with 1 home run and 32 RBI in 107 games. [14] Simcox did not play in a game in 2020 due to the cancellation of the minor league season because of the COVID-19 pandemic. [15] On April 16,2021,Simcox retired from professional baseball. [16]
Simcox's father,Larry,is a former assistant coach for the Volunteers' baseball team. [2]

While primarily an outfielder,he played every position except for catcher and shortstop during his career.
John T. Shelby is a former center fielder in Major League Baseball (MLB) who played from 1981 to 1991. He began his career as a member of the Baltimore Orioles before later playing for the Los Angeles Dodgers and Detroit Tigers. Shelby was a member of two World Series–winning teams:the 1983 Orioles and the 1988 Dodgers. His nickname was "T-Bone" because of his slight frame. He currently is a coach in the Atlanta Braves minor league system.
Michael Gregory Rabelo is a former Major League Baseball catcher who played with the Detroit Tigers and Florida Marlins from 2006 to 2008. He is currently the Third Base Coach and Major League Field Coordinator for the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Thomas Martin Veryzer was an American baseball shortstop. He played 12 years in Major League Baseball,appearing in 979 games for the Detroit Tigers (1973-1977),Cleveland Indians (1978-1981),New York Mets (1982),and Chicago Cubs (1983-1984). He ranked third in the American League in 1977 with a range factor of 5.16 per nine innings at shortstop. His career range factor of 4.841 per nine innings at shortstop ranks as the 25th best in Major League history.
Garth Cale Iorg is an American former professional baseball player. He is the son of former Major League Baseball (MLB) player Garth Iorg and nephew of former MLB player Dane Iorg. Iorg played college baseball for the Alabama Crimson Tide. After his freshman season at Alabama,Iorg put his baseball career on hold to go on a Mormon mission to Lisbon,Portugal. He was drafted by the Detroit Tigers shortly before he returned from the mission. Iorg was ranked as the third best prospect in the Tigers organization by Baseball America following the 2008 season.

Graham is currently the manager of the Lakeland Flying Tigers,a minor league affiliate of the Detroit Tigers. Growing up in Australia he played baseball for the Ku-ring-gai Stealers Baseball Club.
Gustavo Adolfo Núñez is a Dominican Republic professional baseball infielder for the Guerreros de Oaxaca of the Mexican League. Núñez signed with the Detroit Tigers as an international free agent in 2007.
Dazmon Jaroid Cameron is an American professional baseball outfielder for the Detroit Tigers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He attended Eagle's Landing Christian Academy in McDonough,Georgia,and was selected by the Houston Astros in the 2015 MLB draft. The Astros traded Cameron to the Tigers in 2017. His father is former All-Star outfielder Mike Cameron.

Christin Gaylin Harris Stewart is an American professional baseball outfielder in the Boston Red Sox organization. He played college baseball for the University of Tennessee,and has previously played for the Detroit Tigers of Major League Baseball. The Tigers drafted him in the 34th overall in the first round of the 2015 Major League Baseball Draft. Baseball America wrote that he has a "physical frame and produces above-average bat speed (that) combined with the natural leverage in his swing,translates into plus raw power".
Nicholas Peter Senzel is an American professional baseball outfielder for the Cincinnati Reds of Major League Baseball (MLB). Prior to playing professionally,Senzel attended the University of Tennessee,where he played college baseball for the Volunteers. The Reds selected him with the second overall selection in the 2016 MLB draft and he made his major league debut in 2019.
