The AIR Awards of 2015 (or Carlton Dry Independent Music Awards of 2015) is the tenth annual Australian Independent Record Labels Association Music Awards (generally known as the AIR Awards) and was an award ceremony at The Meat Market, North Melbourne on 22 October 2015. The event was again sponsored by Australian liquor brand, Carlton Dry. The Carlton Dry Global Music Grant award was removed this year, after two previous appearances.

Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit is the debut studio album by Australian indie rock musician Courtney Barnett, released on 20 March 2015. The album received wide acclaim and was ranked as one of the best albums of 2015 by numerous publications.

#1 Dads are an Australian alternative rock band devised by Tom Iansek, who is also lead vocalist-guitarist of Big Scary. He formed the group, initially named Dads in late 2010, as a side project during down time and plays music which is "more acoustic than electronic in construction" compared with the parent band. According to Sputnikmusic's reviewer Iansek "began a particularly fertile period of writing and recording. Holed up in his house, the prolific Melbourne songwriter laid down a full album."

D.D Dumbo was the solo project of the Australian, Castlemaine-based musician, Oliver Hugh Perry, who began the project in 2013 with the release of his self-titled debut EP Tropical Oceans, released by The Blue Rider in 2013 and later re-released by 4AD in 2014. The EP received positive reviews and from here, Perry was invited to attend South by Southwest in the same year, where he was signed by 4AD. Perry also supported Warpaint, Tune-Yards, St. Vincent, Jungle and Iron & Wine in 2013.

"Sundream" is a song by Australian alternative dance group RÜFÜS DU SOL. The song was released on 21 March 2014 as the fourth and final single from the group's debut studio album, Atlas (2013). The song peaked at number 47 on the ARIA Chart, becoming the group's first top 50 single.
