Adobe Mountain School is the only secondary school operated by the Arizona Department of Juvenile Corrections (formerly one of four). It is located inside AZDJC's facility at Interstate 17 and Pinnacle Peak Road in Phoenix, Arizona. It is a member of the Canyon Athletic Association and an associate member of the Arizona Interscholastic Association. Its colors are black and white, and its mascot is the Lions. [3]

The Luhrs Building is a historic ten-story building located at 11 West Jefferson in Downtown Phoenix, Arizona. It was listed on the Phoenix Historic Property Register in 1990. It was built by local businessman George H. N. Luhrs, an original Phoenix City Council member from 1881–85, at a cost of $553,000 USD, and opened on May 17, 1924. At the time, it was the tallest building in Phoenix and was said to be the largest building between El Paso and Los Angeles.

The facility opened on June 16, 1967 as the Arizona Youth Center, and was the oldest of the state's three juvenile centers. As of 2011, the facility had a 124-bed capacity.
