Altona is a settlement on the island of Saint Croix in the United States Virgin Islands. It is an eastern suburb of Christiansted.
Altona (Eastend Quarter A No. 5, Christiansteds Police District and Jurisdiction) is a former livestock estate. As of 1816, it had an area of just 25 acres.17 enslaved labourers were present on the estate. On 8 September 1818, it was sold by auction to P. Borch for Ps. 500. It was already the same day sold by him to J. de la Motta, for Ps. 3,305. On 16 February 1819, 30 acres of the property was sold by J. de la Motta to J. Benners for Ps. 3,000. On 15 October 1824, October 15, Altona was sold by auction to A. Danielsen for Ps. 100. A. Danielsen assumed St. Croix Upper Guardians’ claim in favor of R. Faussett, for Ps. 2,40. [1]

William Alexander Leidesdorff, Jr. was one of the earliest biracial-black U.S. citizens in California and one of the founders of the city that became San Francisco. A highly successful, enterprising businessman, he was a West Indian immigrant of African Cuban, possibly Carib, Danish/Swedish and Jewish ancestry. Leidesdorff became a United States citizen in New Orleans in 1834. He migrated to Alta California in 1841, then under Mexican rule, settling in Yerba Buena, a village of about 30 Mexican and European families.
Juan Francisco Luis was a U.S. Virgin Islander politician who served as the third elected Governor of the United States Virgin Islands. He is the territory's 23rd governor overall. Luis assumed the governorship on January 2, 1978, succeeding Governor Cyril King, who died in office. He held the governor's office from 1978 until 1987, becoming the longest-serving governor in the history of the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Estate Little Princess is a historic plantation site located northwest of Christiansted in Saint Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. It was first owned by governor Frederik Moth in 1738 and rests on 25 acres of land. As of 2011 the estate is under ownership of The Nature Conservancy and serves as headquarters for the Eastern Caribbean/Virgin Islands programs. The property has been turned into a nature preserve and historical tours are given as well. The site was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on June 9, 1980.

Estate Judith's Fancy, subdistrict of Saint Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, 4 miles (6.4 km) northwest of Christiansted is a former sugarcane plantation whose great house was built in 1733. Its surviving 3.6 acres (1.5 ha) property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. The listing included six contributing sites.
