Amy Florence Lennox is an Olivier Award nominated actress. She has appeared in shows including Kinky Boots and Cabaret . She was also in the main cast of the television show Holby City for three series playing Chloe Godard.

Career

She played Margot in the original West End cast of Legally Blonde in 2009, for which she also understudied Sheridan Smith in the leading role of Elle Woods. [1] In 2012 she played Doralee in the UK touring production of 9 to 5 . [1]

In 2011 she performed in the play DECADE directed by Rupert Goold for Headlong Theatre, the 12 person cast also included Tobias Menzies. Later in 2011 Lennox performed in the world premiere of Soho Cinders , playing the role of Velcro. The performance was for a charity gala held at the Queen's Theatre. She went on to play the role in the first fully staged production of the show at the Soho Theatre in 2012.

In 2015, she played Cathy in The Last Five Years at Lyric Theatre in Belfast alongside the actor Fra Fee. She then played Lauren in the original West End cast of Kinky Boots. [2] She was nominated for both the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role in a Musical and the WhatsOnStage Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical for her performance.

She played Ellie in the David Bowie and Enda Walsh musical Lazarus when it played a limited season at the Kings Cross Theatre from October 2016 through January 2017. [3] She was nominated for the WhatsOnStage Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical.

In 2018 she played the role of Pocahontas in the new play "Romana Tells Jim" also starring Joe Bannister and Ruby Bentall at Bush Theatre in London.

In January 2019 she joined the cast of Holby City , playing Chloe Godard, a CT surgeon and the daughter of the YAU consultant Ange Godard.

On 21 March 2022, she took over the role of Sally Bowles in Cabaret at the Playhouse Theatre, starring alongside Fra Fee. [4]

In June 2023, she played the role of Sarah in the new play "Spy for Spy" also starring Olive Gray at Riverside Studios. [5]

Personal life

She met musical theatre actor Tom Andrew Hargreaves while she was in the touring production of 9 to 5 in 2012. They married in October 2021. [6]

<i>Holby City</i> series 21 Season of television series

The twenty-first series of the British medical drama television series Holby City began Airing on BBC One on 2 January 2019 in the United Kingdom. The series consists of 53 episodes. Kate Hall acts as the series producer for episode one and was replaced by Jane Wallbank from the following episode; Simon Harper is the executive producer. The series is billed as an anniversary year for the drama as it celebrates twenty years since its launch. The series also features a crossover episode with sister show Casualty, an episode written by the show's co-creator Tony McHale and the show's 1000th episode, due to be broadcast in November 2019. Thirteen actors reprise their roles from the previous series and former cast members return for guest stints throughout the series. Three new regular characters were also introduced, while Nic Jackman was promoted to the main cast in his role as foundation doctor Cameron Dunn.

The twenty-second series of the British medical drama television series Holby City began on BBC One on 7 January 2020 in the United Kingdom. The series consists of 44 episodes. Jane Wallbank is the series producer, and Simon Harper is the executive producer. The series features an episode dedicated to Holocaust Memorial Day, a topical last-minute insert about the COVID-19 pandemic and a COVID-19-themed episode. Production for the drama was suspended between March and July 2020 due to the pandemic, which led to two transmission hiatuses during the series. Ange Godard is a fictional character from the BBC medical drama Holby City, played by actress Dawn Steele. She first appeared in the series twenty-one episode "China Crisis", broadcast on 8 January 2019. Ange arrives at Holby City hospital to work as a consultant general surgeon on the Young Adult Unit (YAU), a ward she helps to create. Steele was cast in the role following a meeting with the show's production team. She was "delighted" to join the show's cast and it was soon publicised that Ange would have a number of "explosive" secrets, which would then drive Holby City stories forward. Ange is characterised as "ballsy", "tenacious" and "stubborn". Steele has stated that Ange is portrayed as the most emotional surgeon imaginable. Her empathy for patients is often displayed in scenes, which Steele believed was a result of Ange's past experiences.

The twenty-third and final series of the British medical drama television series Holby City began airing on BBC One in the United Kingdom on 6 April 2021. The series consists of 50 episodes, which focus on the professional and personal lives of medical and ancillary staff at the fictional Holby City Hospital. Seán Gleeson serves as the series producer. A new theme tune was introduced in the series, but was negatively received from viewers. As the series was filmed during the COVID-19 pandemic, it had to comply with safety protocols, including social distancing and reduced people on-set. Early in the series, actors Dawn Steele and Trieve Blackwood-Cambridge isolated and became a work bubble for two episodes to film close proximity scenes. The series was promoted through multiple trailers and behind-the-scenes videos.
