Annaliese Dragan (born September 15, 2005) is a Romanian-American rhythmic gymnast. [2] Along Andreea Verdes she was the first Romanian gymnast to qualify for finals at the World Championships in 26 years in 2022.

Career

Junior

Dragan was invited by the Romanian federation to compete for them, thanks to her parents' nationality, her first international competition was the 2020 European Championship in Kiyv, Ukraine. She was 9th in the all around and qualified for the rope, clubs and ribbon final. [3]

Senior

Dragan competed with clubs and ribbon at the 2021 Pesaro World Cup, and the World Challenge Cup in Cluj-Napoca where she placed 8th in the hoop final. In June she was part of the team that competed at the European Championship in Varna, Bulgaria along with Andreea Verdes and Denisa Mailat. [4] Later in the year she was also selected for the World Championship in Kitakyushu, Japan, where she ended on 22nd place in All-around Qualifications and failed to advance into Final.

In 2022, Dragan became Romania's second gymnast and inaugurated her season with the World Cup in Palaio Faliro where she qualified for the hoop and clubs final, and then at the stage in Sofia. She was selected again for the 2022 European Championship in Tel Aviv, Israel, together with Verdes and her sister along Amalia Lica for the junior team. She placed 20th in All-around Final.

In September, she competed at the 2022 World Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria. She placed 12th in All-around Qualifications and qualified to final, where she ended on 18th place because of mistakes with clubs. Dragan qualified to three Apparatus finals, placing 8th in Ball, 7th in Clubs and 6th in Ribbon. [5]

At the World Championships in 2023 she qualified for the All-Around final in 17th place and thus earning a spot for the 2024 Olympic Games, the first for Romania since Ana Luiza Filiorianu in 2016. [6] [7]

Ana Luiza Filiorianu is a Romanian individual rhythmic gymnast. She is the six-time Romanian National All-around champion.

Rut Castillo Galindo is a Mexican individual rhythmic gymnast. She represented Mexico at the 2020 Summer Olympics and became the first Mexican, and LGBTQ+ rhythmic gymnast to compete at an Olympic Games. She is the 2021 Pan American all-around champion. At the 2007 Pan American Games, she won the silver medal in hoop and the bronze medals in the all-around and clubs. She is an eight-time Central American and Caribbean Games champion. She has also competed at nine World Championships.

Alexandra Ana Maria Agiurgiuculese is a Romanian-Italian individual rhythmic gymnast who represents Italy. She is a World Championships silver and bronze medalist, and competed at the 2020 Olympic Games. She is the first Italian gymnast to win the Longines Prize for Elegance. She is a four-time medalist at the 2016 European Junior Championships. At the national level, she is the 2019 Italian National All-around champion, three-time Italian National All-around silver medalist.

Katrin Yankova Taseva is a retired Bulgarian individual rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2017 European Silver medalist with Ribbon, 2019 Grand-Prix Final All-around bronze medalist, the 2019 World Cup series All-around and Ball winner and the double World Cup series Ribbon winner. Taseva had won multiple medals at the European Games and is also the 2018 Bulgarian National Champion and a four-time Bulgarian National All-around silver medalist.
