The Ash Shaliheen Mosque (Malay : Masjid Ash-Shaliheen) is a mosque located besides the Prime Minister's Office Complex in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei. [1] [2]
The mosque is built in the Moroccan style by Egyptian architect Abdel-Wahed El-Wakil, winner of the 2009 Driehaus Prize and part of the New Classical movement.
The mosque has a glass retractable roof for convenience of the faithful. The mosque was completed in June 2012 and can seat up to 1000 people at a time. [3] [4]
Brunei joined ASEAN on 7 January 1984, one week after resuming full independence, and gives its ASEAN membership the highest priority in its foreign relations. Brunei joined the United Nations in September 1984. It is also a member of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum and the Commonwealth of Nations. Brunei hosted the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting in November 2000. In 2005 it attended the inaugural East Asia Summit.

The Blue Mosque is an 18th-century Shia mosque in Yerevan, Armenia. It was commissioned by Huseyn Ali Khan, the khan of Erivan. It is one of the oldest extant structures in central Yerevan and the most significant structure from the city's Iranian period. The COVID-19 pandemic in Brunei is part of the worldwide pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2. The virus spread to Brunei on 9 March 2020, when its first case was confirmed in Tutong. Many early cases were linked to Jamek Mosque Sri Petaling in Kuala Lumpur, which held a large Tablighi Jamaat ijtema event at the end of February 2020. Of Brunei's first 50 cases, 45 were related to Jamek Mosque. The pandemic had spread to all districts of Brunei, except in the exclave of Temburong.
