The Aztec Bowl was an outdoor stadium in San Diego, California, located on the campus of San Diego State University. The stadium was home of the San Diego State Aztecs football team.
Construction of a 10,000 seat stadium began in 1933 following the first of two Works Progress Administration (WPA) grants. 2,592 more seats were added in 1948.
The Aztec Bowl hosted the San Diego State Aztecs football team until they moved to San Diego Stadium in 1967. The stadium was used for soccer matches and as a musical venue for the San Diego Symphony, the Grateful Dead in 1969, the Police in 1983 and Lollapalooza in 1994. [8]
John F. Kennedy, then the President of the United States of America, gave a commencement address and received the first honorary doctorate given by a California State University at the stadium on June 6, 1963. [9] [10] [11] Then-mayor Pete Wilson's 40th birthday party was held there in 1973. [12]
Viejas Arena (formerly Cox Arena), the school's basketball arena, has been sitting on the site of the stadium since 1997. The arena was built directly into the canyon hillside, enclosing one end of the Aztec Bowl. Two sections of the stadium's original concrete bleachers and cobblestone walls remain visible.
The stadium was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994. [13] A request was made to remove the stadium from the National Register of Historic Places, [14] and was removed on May 30, 2012. [15]

The naming rights expired on June 14, 2017, and were purchased by San Diego County Credit Union, renaming the facility as SDCCU Stadium on September 19, 2017; those naming rights expired in December 2020. Demolition of San Diego Stadium began in December 2020, with the last freestanding section of the stadium's superstructure felled by March 22, 2021.

Kino Sports Complex is a multiple-use sports complex in Tucson, Arizona. The Arizona Diamondbacks and Chicago White Sox formerly utilized the complex's main ballpark, Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium, for Cactus League games each March and had their minor league complexes on-site. The ballpark was also home to the Tucson Sidewinders of the Pacific Coast League for the team's last decade in Tucson, running from the stadium's 1998 opening season to the 2008 season. The ballpark was a temporary home (2011–2013) to the Tucson Padres of the Pacific Coast League during the team's relocation to El Paso, Texas.
