Ballyfermot Bears RLFC are a rugby league club playing in Ballyfermot in Dublin. They play in IRL Leinster Division. They play in Markievicz Park, in Ballyfermot, a suburb located outside Dublin city.
Their local rivals are Tallaght RLFC, who also play in the same division.
Ballyfermot Bears were formed in 2010 after the dissolution the Dublin Destroyers RLFC. In the last three seasons the Bears have competed in the Leinster League playing in Markievicz Park Ballyfermot. [1]

Constance Georgine Markievicz, also known as Countess Markievicz and Madame Markievicz, was an Irish politician, revolutionary, nationalist, suffragist, socialist, and the first woman elected to the Westminster Parliament, and was elected Minister for Labour in the First Dáil, becoming the first female cabinet minister in Europe. She served as a Teachta Dála for the Dublin South constituency from 1921 to 1922 and 1923 to 1927. She was a Member of Parliament (MP) for Dublin St Patrick's from 1918 to 1922.
Ballyfermot is a suburb of Dublin, Ireland. It is located seven kilometres west of the city centre, south of Phoenix Park. It is bordered by Chapelizod on the north, by Bluebell on the south, by Inchicore on the east, and by Palmerstown and Clondalkin on the west. The River Liffey lies to the north, and the Grand Canal, now a recreational waterway, lies to the south of Ballyfermot. Ballyfermont lies within the postal district Dublin 10. Cherry Orchard, which is also a suburb, is sometimes considered to be within Ballyfermot.

The Heidenfeld Trophy is chess league competition in Leinster, Ireland, it is the second division of the Leinster Chess Union. Founded in 1971 with the restructuring of the division one Armstrong Cup it was named after the famous German born chess player and former Irish Champion Wolfgang Heidenfeld. The league comprises twelve teams, of eight players on each team, with the top two teams each season are promoted to the Armstrong Cup, with the bottom two teams relegated to the third division Ennis Shield. Players have to be registered with the Irish Chess Union, all matches are rated by the ICU, and in 2010 for the first time matches were graded by FIDE.
