Barbara Womack Webb (born 1956 or 1957) is an American judge from Arkansas who is an associate justice of the Arkansas Supreme Court.
Webb received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Arkansas in 1979 and a Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas School of Law in 1982. [2]
Webb was elected to be the prosecuting attorney of the 7th and 22nd judicial districts of Arkansas. [3] In addition to being a prosecuting attorney she has served on the Arkansas Ethics Commission,Arkansas State Crime Lab Board,Arkansas Coalition for Juvenile Justice,and the U.S. Department of Justice Anti-Terrorism Task Force. [4]
She is a chief law judge for the Arkansas Workers Compensation Commission. [5]
On December 4,2018,Webb was appointed by Governor Asa Hutchinson to be a circuit judge of Saline County. [4] She was the first woman appointed as a circuit judge in the county. [6] She was appointed to replace Circuit Judge Bobby McCallister and served until December 31,2018. [7]
On November 8,2019,Webb filed paperwork to run for a seat on the Arkansas Supreme Court. [3] On March 3,2020,she was elected to be an associate justice of the Arkansas Supreme Court. [8] defeating Morgan Welch.
She is married to the former chair of the Arkansas Republican Party Doyle Webb. [9]
Arkansas's 2006 state elections were held November 7,2006. Primaries were held May 23 and runoffs,if necessary,were held June 13. Arkansas elected seven constitutional officers,17 of 35 state senate seats,all 100 house seats and 28 district prosecuting attorneys,and voted on one constitutional amendment and one referred question. Non-partisan judicial elections were held the same day as the party primaries for four Supreme Court justices,four appeals circuit court judges,and eight district court judges.

Same-sex marriage has been legal in Arkansas since the U.S. Supreme Court's landmark decision in Obergefell v. Hodges on June 26,2015,in which the court struck down same-sex marriage bans nationwide. Prior to this,same-sex marriage in Arkansas was briefly legal for a period beginning on May 9,2014,as a result of a ruling by Sixth Judicial Circuit Judge Chris Piazza striking down the state's constitutional and statutory bans on same-sex marriage as violating the U.S. Constitution. An Arkansas Circuit Court judge ruled the Arkansas Constitution's ban on same-sex marriage unconstitutional on May 9,2014. He clarified his opinion to include state statutes that interfered with allowing or recognizing same-sex marriage as well. The state Supreme Court issued a stay in the case on May 16,2014,but approximately 450 same-sex marriage licenses were issued before the stay went into effect.
