The Districts of Ghana are second-level administrative subdivisions of Ghana, below the level of region. There are currently 261 local metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies.
Yendi , is the traditional capital of the Kingdom of Dagbon and the administrative centre of the Yendi Municipal District in the Northern Region of Ghana. As of 2021, the population of Yendi was 154,421 comprising 76,142 males and 78,279 females. It is the seat of the King of the Dagbon, Ghana's oldest kingdom.
The Upper East Region is located in northern Ghana and is the third smallest of the 16 administrative regions in Ghana. It occupies a total land surface of 8,842 square kilometers or 2.7 per cent of the total land area of Ghana. The Upper East regional capital is Bolgatanga, sometimes referred to as Bolga. Other major towns in the region include Navrongo, Paga, Sandema, Bawku, and Zebilla.
The Northern Region is one of the sixteen regions of Ghana. It is situated in the northern part of the country and ranks as the second largest of the sixteen regions. Before its division, it covered an area of 25,000 square kilometres, representing 10 percent of Ghana's area. In December 2018, the Savannah Region and North East Region were created from it. The Northern Region is divided into 16 districts. The region's capital is Tamale, Ghana's third largest city.
East Mamprusi Municipal Assembly is one of the six districts in North East Region, Ghana. Originally created as an ordinary district assembly in 1988 when it was known as East Mamprusi District, which was created from the former Mamprusi District Council, until the eastern part of the district was split off by a decree of president John Agyekum Kufuor on 19 August 2004 to create Bunkpurugu-Yunyoo District; thus the remaining part has been retained as East Mamprusi District. However on 15 March 2018, it was elevated to municipal district assembly status to become East Mamprusi Municipal District. The municipality is located in the eastern part of North East Region and has Gambaga as its capital town.

Binduri is a constituencies represented in the Parliament of Ghana. It elects one member of parliament (MP) by the first past the post system. Binduri was part of in the Bawku Municipal District of the Upper East Region of Ghana but has since June 2012 become a full district.
Naa Gbewaa is the founder of the Kingdom of Dagbon, in what is now northern Ghana. His sons and daughters are credited with founding several states, including the Mossi kingdoms of Burkina Faso. He established a stable and prosperous kingdom. Naa Gbewaa's shrine is located at Pusiga, 90 km east of Bolgatanga. His descendants continue to pay respects at the shrine.
Twifo-Atti Morkwa is a constituency represented in the Parliament of Ghana. It elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election. The Twifo/Atti-Morkwa constituency is located in the Twifo/Atti-Morkwa District of the Central Region of Ghana.
Nalerigu is the largest town in the East Mamprusi Municipal Assembly in the North East Region of Ghana as well as the traditional capital of the Mamprusi people, the seat of the Paramount chief, the NaYiri. Nalerigu is also the capital of the Northeast Region of Ghana. The Northeast Region, one of the six new regions established nationwide in 2018, has its administrative headquarters in Nalerigu.
Adam Amandi (1918–2006) was an Educationist, Farmer, Environmentalist and Ghanaian politician. He was a three-time Member of Parliament, and a senior member of the Busia Administration. He was a true blue, blue blooded founding member of the Northern People's Party, its various iterations—-United Party, Progress Party, Popular Front Party, and the New Patriotic Party.
Gbewaa College of Education is a teacher education college in Pusiga-Bawku . Pusiga District / Bawku Municipal District, Upper East Region, Ghana). Located in Northern Zone, the school was set up in 1953 and affiliated to the University of Ghana. It is one of the 46 public colleges of education in Ghana.

Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Bawku Municipal District in 1988; until two parts of the district were later split off to create Binduri District and Pusiga District respectively on 28 June 2012. The district assembly is located in the eastern part of Upper East Region and has Pusiga as its capital town.
New Juaben North Municipal District is one of the thirty-three districts in Eastern Region, Ghana. Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger New Juaben Municipal District in 1988, until the northern part of the district was split off to create New Juaben North Municipal District on 15 March 2018; thus the remaining part has been renamed as New Juaben South Municipal District. The municipality is located in the central part of Eastern Region and has Effiduase as its capital town.
Ayawaso Central Municipal District is one of the twenty-nine districts in Greater Accra Region, Ghana. Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Accra Metropolitan District in 1988, until a small portion of the district was split off to create Ayawaso Central Municipal District on 9 February 2019; thus the remaining part has been retained as Accra Metropolitan District. The municipality is located in the central part of Greater Accra Region and has Kokomlemle as its capital town.

Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger New Juaben Municipal District in 1988 until the northern part of the district was split off to create New Juaben North Municipal Assembly on 15 March 2018; thus the remaining part has been renamed as New Juaben South Municipal Assembly. The municipality is located in the central part of the Eastern Region and has Koforidua as its capital town.

Originally it was a sub-metropolitan district council within the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly until 15 March 2018, when it was elevated to municipal district assembly status to become Asokwa Municipal District. The municipality is located in the central part of Ashanti Region and has Asokwa as its capital town.
Suame Municipal District is one of the forty-three districts in Ashanti Region, Ghana. Originally it was a sub-metropolitan district council within the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly until 15 March 2018, when it was elevated to municipal district assembly status to become Suame Municipal District. The municipality is located in the central part of Ashanti Region and has Suame as its capital town.
Coaltar is the capital of the Ayensuano in the Eastern Region of Ghana. Coaltar used to be in the Suhum/Kraboa/Coaltar District until 2012 when the district was split into the Suhum Municipal District and the Ayensuano districts. Following this, Coaltar became the district capital. As at 2021, the District Chief Executive is Josephine Inkoom.
