Ben Nuckels (born January,18 1979) is an American political strategist [1] and former campaign manager. [2] Nuckels is a founding partner of the Washington D.C.-based Democratic media consulting business, Strother Nuckels Strategies. [3]

Career

Nuckels has helped elect Governors, [4] Senators, Members of Congress, [5] State Supreme Court Justices [6] , and Mayors. [7] Nuckels was the media strategist for Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers’ victory over Governor Scott Walker [8] in 2018 that the Washington Post labeled, "…potentially the greatest Democratic victory of the midterms.” [9] In 2022, Nuckels reprised his role in Evers' victory over Wisconsin businessman Tim Michels [10] .

Nuckels has helped re-elect U.S. Senator Jon Tester of Montana, [11] Congresswoman Betty McCollum of Minnesota, [12] and Congresswoman Abby Finkenauer of Iowa, [13] and former New Hampshire Governor and current Senator Maggie Hassan. [14] Nuckels has also produced public affairs advertising for Airbnb, [15] and helped defeat soccer superstar David Beckham's MLS soccer stadium proposal at PortMiami. [16]

Prior to consulting, Nuckels was the campaign manager to former Illinois Governor Pat Quinn's successful election that Real Clear Politics deemed one of the top upsets in the country in 2010. [17] He also served as Chief of Staff to Wisconsin Lieutenant Governor Barbara Lawton. [18]

Nuckels has also been a subject matter expert in publications such as the New York Times, [19] Detroit Free Press, [20] Fox News, [21] and Campaigns & Elections Magazine. [22]

Nuckels was born in Carroll, Iowa. [23] Nuckels is now a Wisconsin resident. [24]

Joe M. Allbaugh is an American political figure in the Republican Party. After spending most of his career in Oklahoma and Texas, Allbaugh came to national prominence working for Texas governor George W. Bush and helping manage his 2000 presidential election campaign. Allbaugh then became Bush's Director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) beginning in February 2001. He served until FEMA's transfer into the newly created Department of Homeland Security, after which he resigned in March 2003. He was appointed as the interim Director of the Oklahoma Department of Corrections by the state Board of Corrections, effective January 11, 2016. On July 6, 2016, the Oklahoma Board of Corrections voted unanimously to make his appointment permanent and set his salary at $185,000. Allbaugh has pointed out his department "is not a listing ship, it is a sinking ship."

On September 29, 2021, he announced a run for lieutenant governor of Texas as a Democrat against the incumbent, Dan Patrick. On December 7, 2021, Dowd announced the end of his campaign.

A special election was held to fill the remainder of the term in the United States House of Representatives for Wisconsin's 7th congressional district in the 116th United States Congress. Sean Duffy, the incumbent representative, announced his resignation effective September 23, 2019, as his wife was about to give birth to a child with a heart condition. Governor Tony Evers chose January 27, 2020, as the date for the special election, with the primaries scheduled for December 30, 2019. However, upon being informed by the Department of Justice of the date being in violation of federal law, since it would provide insufficient time for overseas and military voters to receive ballots, Governor Evers rescheduled the primaries for February 18, 2020, and the general election for May 12, 2020.

Dane Strother is an American Democratic political strategist, media commentator, and former reporter who was part of the 1988 Pulitzer Prize-Winning staff at the Lawrence Eagle-Tribune. Strother was described in the New York Post and the Washington Examiner as a "legendary Democratic strategist."

Tara McGowan is an American political strategist and journalist. She was the co-founder and CEO of multiple organizations which have been noted for large expenditures on digital advertising in preparation for the 2020 United States presidential election, including the political organization Acronym, the company Lockwood Strategy, and the media company Courier Newsroom. She was the director of the advertising branch of Priorities USA Action, which was the primary super PAC supporting Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign, and was a digital producer for the re-election campaign of Barack Obama. Previously, she was the press secretary for United States Senator Jack Reed. In 2021, she stepped down from Acronym to build media full-time as head of a new company, Good Information Inc.

Aron Shaviv is an international political strategist. He is the founder and chief executive officer of Shaviv Strategy and Campaigns, an international political consulting firm that is based in Israel. Shaviv served as the campaign manager of Benjamin Netanyahu’s 2015 election campaign and advised David Cameron in the 2015 UK general election as well as President Aleksandar Vucic in the 2017 Serbian Presidential elections.
