The playoffs, play-offs, postseason or finals of a sports league are a competition played after the regular season by the top competitors to determine the league champion or a similar accolade. Depending on the league, the playoffs may be either a single game, a series of games, or a tournament, and may use a single-elimination system or one of several other different playoff formats. Playoff, in regard to international fixtures, is to qualify or progress to the next round of a competition or tournament.
There are a number of formats used in various levels of competition in sports and games to determine an overall champion. Some of the most common are the single elimination, the best-of- series, the total points series more commonly known as on aggregate, and the round-robin tournament.
A wild card is a tournament or playoff berth awarded to an individual or team that fails to qualify in the normal way; for example, by having a high ranking or winning a qualifying stage. The six-team single-elimination tournament consisted of three rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The defending champions were the Georgetown Hoyas. They successfully defended their title by defeating St. John's in the final 1-0. This is the fifth title in program history for Georgetown and head coach Dave Nolan. All five of their titles have come in the last six years. As tournament champions, Georgetown earned the Big East's automatic berth into the 2021 NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Tournament.

The tournament was hosted by the higher seed in the Quarterfinals and the higher remaining seed in the Semifinals and Finals. The eight-team single-elimination tournament consisted of three rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. Campbell were the defending champions, and the first overall seed in the tournament. However, they were unable to defend their crown, falling in extra time to High Point in the final. The conference tournament title was the seventh for the High Point women's soccer program and the first for head coach Brandi Fontaine. As tournament champions, High Point earned the Big South's automatic berth into the 2021 NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Tournament.

The six-team single-elimination tournament consisted of three rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The defending champions were the Seton Hall Pirates. They were unable to defendtheir title after not qualifying for the tournament and finishing in last place in the regular season standings. Georgetown finished as tournament champions after defeating Providence 2–1 in overtime in the final. This is the fifth title in program history for Georgetown, all of which have come under Head Coach Brian Wiese. As tournament champions, Georgetown earned the Big East's automatic place in the 2021 NCAA Division I men's soccer tournament.
The 2022 Big 12 Conference women's soccer tournament was the postseason women's soccer tournament for the Big 12 Conference held from October 30 to November 6, 2022. The 7-match tournament was held at the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex in Round Rock, Texas. The 8-team single-elimination tournament consisted of three rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The TCU Horned Frogs were the defending champions from 2021.
