Bill Fellows (born May 1957 [1] ) is a British character actor best known for his roles as Stu Carpenter in Coronation Street , and George Cartrick in Ted Lasso .

Life and career

Fellows was born in Middlesbrough. [2] He graduated from the Guildford Drama School in the 1980s. [3]

His theatre work includes Mickey in the West End's Blood Brothers and The Trackers of Oxyrhynchus at the Royal National Theatre. [2] His son Dylan Reeves-Fellows is also an actor. [4]

John Clarkson Stewart, known as John Altman, is an English actor and singer, perhaps best known for playing Nick Cotton in the popular BBC soap opera EastEnders. He was among the show's original cast members appearing in the first episode in February 1985 and appeared on the show on and off as a recurring character. His character was killed off in the 30th anniversary episode of the show which aired in February 2015. Altman has also appeared in several films, television series and stage productions. In 2010, he became the new frontman of the band Heavy Metal Kids following the death of former frontman Gary Holton in 1985.

Philip Middlemiss is an English television, radio actor and businessman, best known for playing bookmaker Des Barnes in ITV's Coronation Street between 1990 and 1998. Bill Webster is a fictional character from the British ITV soap opera Coronation Street, played by Peter Armitage. The character first appeared onscreen during the episode airing on 6 February 1984 and remained in the show until 1985 when Armitage decided to leave. The character was reintroduced in 1995 but he was again written out two years later. Armitage returned once again in 2006 and appeared frequently until late-April 2010 when the character suddenly appeared only a recurring basis. It was reported in 2011 that Bill was going to be axed completely, however, he continued to make appearances on a recurring basis. His last appearance was broadcast on 29 December 2011, where Bill was in attendance at youngest granddaughter Sophie's wedding to her fiancée Sian Powers. Armitage died on 30 November 2018, therefore ruling out a future return for the character. The character was killed off-screen in April 2023.
