The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference is a collegiate athletic conference affiliated with NCAA Division I. Its current 11 full members are located in four Northeastern states: Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and Maryland. It was announced on October 23, 2023 that Sacred Heart University and Merrimack College will join the conference beginning in the 2024-25 season.
Briana Collette Scurry is an American retired soccer goalkeeper, and assistant coach of the Washington Spirit as of 2018. Scurry was the starting goalkeeper for the United States women's national soccer team at the 1995 World Cup, 1996 Summer Olympics, 1999 World Cup (champions), 2003 World Cup, and the 2004 Summer Olympic Games. She played in the semi-final and playoff for third place in the 2007 Women's World Cup. She was a founding member of the WUSA, playing three seasons as starting goalkeeper for the Atlanta Beat (2001–2003).
The Fairfield Stags are the athletic programs representing Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut. Most of the programs are members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) and classified as Division I (non-football) in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
Rut Hedvig Lindahl is a Swedish professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Swedish Elitettan club Eskilstuna United DFF and the Sweden national team. She previously played club football in Sweden for Damallsvenskan clubs including Malmö FF, Linköpings FC, Kristianstads DFF, Kopparbergs/Göteborg FC, and Djurgården, as well as Chelsea in the English FA WSL. Since making her international debut in 2002, Lindahl has accrued 189 caps for Sweden. On 3 August 2014, Lindahl played her 100th cap for Sweden against England. On 17 September 2015, Lindahl played her 113th cap and thereby broke Elisabeth Leidinge's record to become the most capped Swedish female goalkeeper.
Sara Margareta Mattsson is a Swedish former football defender who played for KIF Örebro DFF of the Damallsvenskan league. She won 112 caps as a member of the Sweden women's national football team.
Lessing Field is a multi-purpose lacrosse and soccer stadium on the campus of Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut. It is home to the Fairfield Stags men's and women's lacrosse and soccer teams. Previously named Varsity Field it was renovated in 2002 including the installation of high-durability sod, a new irrigation and drainage systems, new lights for night games and new stands with capacity for 600 fans. Lessing Field is named in honor of Stephen Lessing '76, a former member of the Fairfield Stags men's tennis team and current member of the Fairfield University Board of Trustees whose generosity allowed for the stadium renovations.
Johanna Maria Baltensperger Rasmussen is a former Danish professional footballer who last played for Linköpings FC in the Damallsvenskan and the Denmark women's national football team. She played as a forward and wore the number 13 shirt for Denmark.

Carl Rees is the head coach of the Fairfield Stags men's soccer team where he was the 1998 NSCAA New England Coach of the Year and the 1998, 2011 and 2017 MAAC Coach of the Year. Rees is a USSF academy national team scout. As a player he was a schoolboy footballer with Everton FC from age 14–17 before training full-time with the club. He joined Liverpool FC age 17–18. He represented the England FA team in 1983. After a successful college career Rees spent two seasons in the American Soccer League and at least one in the USISL. Rees started his coaching career in 1990 after a career ending injury.

Kia Janeen McNeill is an American retired professional soccer defender who most recently played for the Boston Breakers in the NWSL. She previously played for the Saint Louis Athletica, Philadelphia Independence, and the Atlanta Beat in the WPS and was a member of the United States U-23 women's national soccer team.
Alyssa Michele Naeher is an American professional soccer player who plays as a goalkeeper for National Women's Soccer League club Chicago Red Stars and the United States Women's National Team. She was on the 23-player roster for the United States at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup and was the starting goalkeeper for the U.S. at the 2019 FIFA World Cup in France. She has also played for the Boston Breakers and Turbine Potsdam. With the Breakers, she won the 2014 NWSL Goalkeeper of the Year award.
The Fairfield Stags baseball team is the college baseball team representing Fairfield University located in Fairfield, Connecticut. Fairfield competes in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) of NCAA Division I and plays their home games at the Alumni Baseball Diamond on the campus of Fairfield University. The Stags were MAAC Champions in 1983, 1991, 1993 and 2016. Fairfield is currently coached by 3 time America East Coach of the Year and 2 time MAAC Coach of the Year Bill Currier.
Megan Nicole Kufeld is an American former soccer goalkeeper who played for Medkila IL of the Norwegian Toppserien. She previously represented Sundsvalls DFF of the Swedish Elitettan and Seattle Sounders Women in the United Soccer Leagues W-League.
Michelle Jenny Betos is an American professional soccer player who plays as a goalkeeper for NJ/NY Gotham FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). She is perhaps best known for being the first NWSL goalkeeper to score a goal in league play.
Katlynn Loretta Fraine is an American soccer goalkeeper who plays in the SWPL for Hibernian. Fraine graduated from University of Florida and spent the 2011 season with Women's Professional Soccer (WPS) club Atlanta Beat. She moved to Sweden in 2012 and played successfully for Mallbackens IF and Linköpings FC before joining Vittsjö in December 2015.
Matthew Charles Turner is an American professional soccer player who plays as a goalkeeper for Premier League club Nottingham Forest and the United States national team.
