Brewer High School is a high school serving 2,162 students in grades 9-12 located in Fort Worth, Texas. [2] It has a notable athletics program, as it has produced major league baseball players Aubrey Huff and Kelly Shoppach. [3] The school mascot is the bear.

History

The old high school was built in the 1950s and was later turned into a middle school in 2008.

Campus

The school's campus on Cherry Lane in White Settlement, Texas was replaced with a new campus located near Loop 820 and Silver Creek Road in Fort Worth in 2007. [4]

Stephen Carr Smith is an American baseball coach and former pitcher. He was a pitching coordinator for the Detroit Tigers. He played college baseball at Baylor University from 1982 to 1983. He was the head coach at Baylor (1995–2015) and Tennessee Tech (2020–2021).

Thomas Carmen Silicato is a former professional baseball player. He played a total of 13 seasons in the minor leagues, mostly in the Philadelphia Phillies organization, but also in the Cincinnati Reds, Milwaukee Brewers and Texas Rangers organizations. He is a member of the Reading Phillies Hall of Fame and the Delaware Sports Hall of Fame.

Ben Hiner Tompkins was an American college and professional athlete and NFL referee. At the University of Texas, he played baseball on the first back-to-back college World Series champions in 1949–50 as an All-Conference third baseman and was the starting quarterback for the Longhorns conference championship football team in 1950.
