Bruce Donald Klostermann (born April 17, 1963) is a former American football linebacker in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at South Dakota State.

Early life and high school

Klostermann was born in Dubuque, Iowa and grew up in Dyersville, Iowa and attended Beckman Catholic High School, where he played fullback and linebacker on the football team and point guard on the basketball team. [1] He was a co-captain of the football team along with future NFL first round pick Mike Haight. [2]

College career

Klostermann began his collegiate career at Waldorf Junior College before transferring to the University of Iowa as a walk-on. He attended Iowa for one semester before transferring to South Dakota State. [1] In his first season with the Jackrabbits, Klostermnan finished second on the team with 107 tackles. [3] Klostermann was named second-team All-North Central Conference as a senior after he led the team in fumble recoveries and tackles for loss and finished second on the team in tackles and sacks. [4]

Professional career

Klostermann was selected in the eighth round of the 1986 NFL Draft by the Denver Broncos. [5] [2] He injured his knee during training camp and spent the 1986 season on injured reserve. [6] [7] Klostermann played in 37 games with five starts over three seasons with the Broncos and played in Super Bowl XXI, Super Bowl XXII and Super Bowl XXIV. [8] He was signed by the Oakland Raiders in 1990 but was cut on August 28. [9] Klostermann was signed by the Los Angeles Rams on November 28, 1990 to play the rest of the season. [10]

Personal life

Klostermann is married to Nancy and has three children: Erin, Zach, and Alyssa. Zach played football at Wartburg College, Erin played volleyball at St. Louis University while Alyssa played volleyball at the University of Iowa. [11]

Lawrence Edward Foote Jr. is an American football coach and former player who currently serves as the de facto co-defensive coordinator, pass game coordinator and inside linebackers coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League (NFL). Foote previously served as the linebackers coach for the Arizona Cardinals from 2015 to 2018. He played in the NFL as a linebacker for 13 season. Foote played college football for the Michigan Wolverines and was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the fourth round of the 2002 NFL draft.

Michael Wayne Huff II is an American former professional football player who was a safety in the National Football League (NFL). At Texas, he won a National Championship and was recognized as a unanimous All-American and the top college defensive back. In the NFL, he was 2nd Team All Pro in 2010. Larry Coyer was an American football coach. He served as the defensive coordinator for the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League (NFL) from 2009 to 2011. Prior to the Colts, he was the assistant head coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and defensive coordinator for the Denver Broncos and New Mexico State.

Willie Montae Reagor is a former defensive tackle who spent nine seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for Texas Tech University, and he was recognized as a consensus All-American. He was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the second round of the 1999 NFL Draft, and also played for the Broncos, Indianapolis Colts and Philadelphia Eagles of the NFL. Reagor was a coaching intern for the Eagles in 2011.

Ricky Cardell Hunley is an American football coach and former professional player who was a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL) for seven seasons during the 1980s and early 1990s. Hunley played college football for the University of Arizona, and was twice recognized as a consensus All-American. He was selected in the first round of the 1984 NFL Draft, and played professionally for the Denver Broncos, Arizona Cardinals and Los Angeles Raiders of the NFL. He is currently the defensive line coach at the University of Arizona in Tucson, his alma mater.

Reginald Wayne Herring is an American football coach and former player and most recently the linebackers coach for the Denver Broncos of the National Football League (NFL). A former linebacker at Florida State University, he began his coaching career in 1981. He has now coached for 36 years across college and the NFL. Herring arrived in Denver to coach linebackers in 2015 after previous stops in the league with Chicago (2014), Houston and Dallas (2008–10). Herring has coached nine linebackers who have made Pro Bowl appearances during their careers, including outside linebackers DeMarcus Ware (9), Mario Williams (4), and Connor Barwin (1), and inside linebackers Zach Thomas (7), Keith Brooking (5), Lance Briggs (7), Brian Cushing (1), Sean Lee (2) and DeMeco Ryans (2). Herring also served as the interim head football coach for the University of Arkansas in the 2008 Cotton Bowl Classic.
