CESAER is a non-profit association of universities of science and technology in Europe. CESAER was founded on 10 May 1990, seated in the Castle of Arenberg in Leuven, Belgium. The association has 58 universities of science and technology in 28 countries. The name CESAER was formed as an abbreviation for "Conference of European Schools for Advanced Engineering Education and Research", but today only the short form CESAER is used. [1]
The combined member institutions of the association have over 1.1 million students enrolled and employ over 96,000 academic staff. [2] The current President until end of 2025 is Orla Feely, [3] Rector of University College Dublin. [4]

National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) is a technical university in Russia. TPU was a member of 12 international associations, including the Conference of European Schools for Advanced Engineering Education and Research (CESAER) until it was suspended in March 2022, and the European University Association (EUA) until it was suspended in March 2022. It was established on 1 January 2015, as a result of a strategic merger between two prestigious grandes écoles in France, École Centrale Paris and Supélec. CentraleSupélec is also considered to be among the best engineering schools of France and most elite institutions in Europe, with an admission rate of 6 to 8% in 2019. It is one of the constituent members of Paris-Saclay University.
Orla Feely is an Irish academic and professor of electronic engineering. She is currently President of University College Dublin (UCD), having previously served as Vice-President for Research, Innovation and Impact. She is also the first Irish woman elected a fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
