Carli Jo Norris (born 23 June 1974) is an English actress, known for her roles as Anoushka Flynn in Doctors , Martha Kane in Hollyoaks and taking over the role of Belinda Peacock in EastEnders .

Career

In June 1997, just before officially graduating from RADA, she was chosen to play Eliza Doolittle in Pygmalion at the Albery Theatre, directed by Ray Cooney and produced by Marc Sinden for Bill Kenwright. [1] They also produced her next show, which was for the Peter Hall Company, when she appeared in the premiere and tour of Simon Gray's Just The Three of Us with Prunella Scales and Dinsdale Landen. [2]

On television, she first appeared as Alice McMahon in EastEnders ; the title character in Catherine Cookson's Tilly Trotter (1999); central characters in In Deep; Grafters ; Roger Roger and The Mrs Bradley Mysteries as Prunella 'Plum' Fisher (2000). She was then cast in the BBC soap opera Doctors as Anoushka Flynn. She appeared in the soap for two months. [3] After making her final appearance on 19 May 2000, Anoushka became the first original character to leave Doctors. [3] She then appeared in The Last Detective; Frank Skinner's Shane ; The House that Jack Built; Sam's Game ; Phoebe in Fanny Hill and as Verity in Slammertime's 2010 episode of My Family . She played the regular role of Martha Kane in Hollyoaks , [4] from January 2012 until November 2013. In 2014, she appeared in the TV Series Agatha Raisin “The Quiche of Death” as Ella Cartwright. Norris also portrayed the role of Fran Reynolds in the BBC medical drama Holby City and went on to portray Belinda Peacock in EastEnders . [5]

Martha Kane is a fictional character from the British Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks, played by Carli Norris. The character debuted on-screen during the episode broadcast on 18 January 2012. The character was introduced as the mother of Ash, Callum and Lacey Kane. Martha is portrayed as a feisty female and a liberal parent. Martha is an alcoholic and has been used to portray the effects the issue has on involved family members. Her addiction causes trouble and affects her youngest daughter, Lacey, following a violent altercation. Despite attempting to overcome her addiction, Martha failed to stop drinking.

Ally Gorman is a fictional character from the Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks, played by Dan O'Connor. The actor's casting was announced in December 2011. O'Connor originally auditioned for a different role, before being asked to audition for the part of Ally. O'Connor was given the part and began filming his scenes three days later. Hollyoaks' series producer, Emma Smithwick, said that O'Connor "nailed" his audition. O'Connor signed up for an initial twelve episode stint, but his contract was extended and he became a regular cast member. The actor commutes from London to Liverpool for filming. O'Connor made his debut screen appearance as Ally during the episode broadcast on 31 January 2012. O'Connor departed Hollyoaks on 27 November 2012.

Ash Kane is a fictional character from the British Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks, played by Holly Weston. Ash debuted on-screen on 28 September 2011. Weston attended a late audition for the role and was later told she had secured the part. Callum Kane is a fictional character from the British Channel 4 soap opera, Hollyoaks, played by Laurie Duncan. The character and Duncan's casting was announced on 25 August 2011. Callum was introduced to the show along with five other regular characters. He made his first screen appearance during the episode broadcast on 6 September 2011. While appearing in the sixth series of Hollyoaks Later in October 2013, Callum was killed off. His exit came as part of a "cast cull", which coincided with the show's 18th anniversary. Duncan's departure from the show was kept secret to ensure viewers would be surprised. The actor later admitted that he cried when he learned that he was leaving.

The Slater family are a fictional family from the BBC soap opera EastEnders, that have appeared since episode 1,997, first broadcast in September 2000. The family are introduced as a central family unit consisting of father Charlie Slater, grandmother Mo Harris, Charlie's daughters, Kat Slater, Lynne Slater, Little Mo Morgan and Zoe Slater, and Lynne's partner Garry Hobbs.
