CelebAbility is a British panel show that aired on ITV2 from 15 June 2017 to 27 July 2023 [1] and is presented by Iain Stirling.

Contents

Format

CelebAbility features two teams, one consisting of celebrities and the other, a group of challengers which feature members of the public. [2] The captain of the challengers selects a member of their team to take on a celebrity in a challenge which consists of the celebrity's expert subject. Since 2019, Scarlett Moffatt has served has captain of the challengers team, except the fourth series, which featured Stacey Solomon instead, due to Moffatt having other commitments. The seventh series featured Moffatt, as well as various guest team captains including Katherine Ryan, Will Best, Snoochie Shy and Pete Wicks. Production

In May 2017, ITV announced the commissioning of the CelebAbility, a new physical comedy entertainment game show. It is produced by Potato, the same company behind game shows such as The Chase and Ninja Warrior UK . [7] The show is broadcast weekly on ITV2 and airs directly after Love Island . [8] [9]

<i>Plebs</i> (TV series) British TV series or programme

Plebs is a British sitcom broadcast on ITV2. It was first broadcast in March 2013, and was produced by Tom Basden, Caroline Leddy, Sam Leifer and Teddy Leifer. It stars Tom Rosenthal, Ryan Sampson, Joel Fry, and Jonathan Pointing, who play young residents of ancient Rome. The format has been compared to The Inbetweeners, Up Pompeii and Chelmsford 123. The first series, comprising six episodes, was broadcast between 25 March and 22 April 2013. Three subsequent series of eight episodes each were broadcast between 22 September and 3 November 2014, between 4 April and 16 May 2016, and between 9 April and 21 May 2018. A fifth series was commissioned with Rosenthal, Sampson and Pointing all returning. The fifth series started on 30 September 2019, ending on 11 November 2019. On 30 April 2020, it was confirmed the series would end with a feature-length special. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, filming was delayed but eventually completed in May 2022.

<i>Love Island</i> (2015 TV series) British television series

Love Island is a British dating game show. It is a revival of the earlier celebrity series of the same name, which aired for two series in 2005 and 2006. The series is the originator of the international Love Island franchise, with twenty-two versions of it having been produced so far worldwide. The show is presented by Maya Jama and narrated by Iain Stirling. The show was previously hosted by both Caroline Flack and Laura Whitmore.

Dane Baptiste is a British stand-up comedian, writer and presenter. He was the first Black British act to be nominated for the "Best Newcomer" award at 2014's Edinburgh Comedy Awards and his comedy series Sunny D premiered on BBC Three in Spring 2016. He has made numerous TV and radio appearances, and hosts his own podcast Dane Baptiste Questions Everything. In January 2021, Baptiste's comedy pilot Bamous launched on BBC Three / BBC One.

<i>Marcella</i> (TV series) British television series

Marcella is a British Nordic noir detective series, written, directed and produced by Swedish screenwriter Hans Rosenfeldt, creator of The Bridge. The series is produced by Buccaneer Media for ITV and distributed worldwide by Buccaneer's parent company Cineflix. <i>Im a Celebrity: Extra Camp</i> British television series

I'm a Celebrity: The Daily Drop (known as I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! Now!. I’m a Celebrity: ExtraCamp is the companion series to I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!, that was broadcast on ITV2 from August 2002 to December 2020. It features behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with contestants after they have been voted off by the public.

Married at First Sight is a British television programme where strangers marry each other, meeting only minutes beforehand. Upon returning, they live together for a period of time, during which they meet at commitment ceremonies and choose whether or not they will continue their relationship. On 14 March 2021, Owen and Michelle from Series 5 became the first couple to celebrate their 1st wedding anniversary together.

Darren Harriott is a British stand-up comedian from Oldbury, West Midlands. He was nominated for the Best Newcomer Award and Best Show Award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2017 and 2019 respectively.

Guessable is a British panel show broadcast on Comedy Central UK, in which panelists play games that revolve around guessing. It began its run in October 2020 and was renewed for a second series of twelve episodes in March 2021. The show is hosted by Sara Pascoe with assistant John Kearns and has team captains Alan Davies and Darren Harriott. In November 2021, the show was confirmed to be returning for a third series of 12 episodes, which began in January 2022, and resumed on 5 September 2022.

Buffering is a British sitcom broadcast on ITV2. The series was created and is co-written by comedian Iain Stirling and Steve Bugeja, and began airing on 5 August 2021 with all episodes available on the ITV Hub on the same day. After a year hiatus, a second series aired in January 2023, but after 12 episodes "Buffering" was axed.

Stephen, also titled Conviction: The Case of Stephen Lawrence, is a 2021 British three-part limited crime drama TV series. It is the sequel to the 1999 TV film The Murder of Stephen Lawrence. It stars Steve Coogan, Sharlene Whyte and Hugh Quarshie. It was written by Frank Cottrell Boyce and Joe Cottrell Boyce and directed by Alrick Riley. The series was produced for ITV by HTM Television, a joint venture between Hat Trick Productions and the producer Jed Mercurio.

David James Potts is an English television personality. Since 2016, he has appeared as head rep on the ITV2 reality series Ibiza Weekender and its successor Kavos Weekender. He has also appeared on the E4 dating series Celebs Go Dating and has finished as runner-up on Celebs on the Farm, Celebrity Karaoke Club and Celebrity Ghost Trip.

Eyal Adi Booker is an English media personality. Whilst attending the Sylvia Young Theatre School, he was selected as a member of the music group EverYoung. Then in 2018, he was a contestant on the fourth series of Love Island. Booker later went on to appear on Celebs on the Ranch and Celebs Go Dating, as well as The X Factor: Celebrity as part of the group No Love Lost.

Laura Anderson is a Scottish television personality. In 2018, she was the runner-up on the fourth series of Love Island. In 2022, she was a finalist on Celebrity Karaoke Club and also appeared on Celebs Go Dating.

Catherine Verona Gordon, known professionally as Verona Rose, is an English actress, comedian, television presenter and writer. She is known for writing and starring in various comedy series and for presenting the dating series Secret Crush on ITV2. She is also a regular fixture on British panel shows and was a contestant on the E4 series The Real Dirty Dancing in 2022.
