Chandler Fields (born February 4, 2000) is an American football quarterback for the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns.
Fields grew up in Metairie, Louisiana and attended Holy Cross School before transferring to Archbishop Rummel High School during his junior year. During high school, he completed 179 out of 303 passing attempts for 2,359 yards, 30 touchdowns and five interceptions during his junior year. [1] He was rated a three-star recruit and committed to play college football at Louisiana over offers from Memphis, Nicholls State and Jackson State. [2] [3]
During his true freshman season in 2019, Field appeared in only three games. [4] During the 2020 season, he made appearances in only two games and made six passing attempts by the end of the season. [5] During the 2021 season, he appeared in eight games and finished the season by completing nine out of 13 passing attempts for 106 yards and a touchdown. [6] During the 2022 season, he was named the team's starting quarterback [7] and started the first five games of the season and played for the final three games of the season due to an injury. [8] He finished the season by throwing 1,182 yards and 11 touchdowns. During the 2022 Independence Bowl, he completed 17 out of 25 passing attempts for 169 yards and a scoring pass and a season-high 32 yards on the ground. [9] [3] [10]
Jake Christopher Delhomme is an American former professional football player who was a quarterback in the National Football League (NFL). Delhomme played college football at Louisiana, then known as the University of Southwestern Louisiana, before being signed by the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent after the 1997 NFL Draft. Delhomme began his professional career as a practice squad player with the Saints in 1997 and 1998 and played in the NFL Europe for two years in between NFL seasons. Returning to the Saints, Delhomme played his first NFL games in 1999. Delhomme played as the Carolina Panthers starting quarterback from 2003 to 2009. Delhomme held many of Carolina's quarterback records until Cam Newton broke most of them. Delhomme led the team to Super Bowl XXXVIII in his first season with Carolina. After his departure from Carolina, Delhomme also played for the Cleveland Browns in 2010 and Houston Texans in 2011.

He is the head football coach at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, a position he has held since the final game of the 2021 season. He previously served in various assistant coaching roles at Louisiana from 2016 to 2021, most recently as the co-offensive coordinator and tight ends coach in 2021.
