ChatBot is software for creating chatbots.

History

ChatBot (BotEngine) has its origins in a research project created by the company LiveChat Software, which won with this project at hackathon in 2016. [1] [2] [3] In August 2017, LiveChat launched a beta version of the BotEngine chatbots build platform. [4] [5] [6]

In September 2017, LiveChat integrated with BotEngine. [7] [8] ChatBot in its current form was launched on February 21, 2018.[ citation needed ] In March 2018, BotEngine was released from beta version. [9] Later that year the product has been rebranded to ChatBot, following the purchase of the chatbot.com domain. [10] [11] [12] In October 2019, ChatBot added a feature to collect customized data about visitors who interacted with bots on websites or Facebook. [13] In May 2020, ChatBot in partnership with Infermedica launched COVID-19 Risk Assessment ChatBot. [14]

In March 2021, ChatBot launched a new version of Visual Builder. [15]

Overview

ChatBot is a platform for building automatic chatbots using artificial intelligence. [16] [17]

ChatBot constructs bots using integration with a range of tools including Facebook Messenger, LiveChat, Skype, KiK, Slack, Twitter and YouTube. [18] [19] [20]

In 2020, the number of ChatBot clients reached 1,000, including [21]  UEFA, Unilever, HTC, Kayak, Danone, Moody's, GM. [22] [23] ChatBot supports multiple non-profit organizations, [24] including: European Mentoring and Coaching Council [25] , Musculoskeletal Australia [26] , Operation Kindness [27] and Tinnitus UK. [28] It is mainly used for connecting and engaging with communities, and fundraising. [29]

Adobe released the last version of Atmosphere, version 1.0 build 216, in February 2004, then discontinued the software in December that year.

An Internet bot, web robot, robot or simply bot is a software application that runs automated tasks (scripts) over the Internet, usually with the intent to imitate human activity on the Internet, such as messaging, on a large scale. An Internet bot plays the client role in a client–server model whereas the server role is usually played by web servers. Internet bots are able to perform tasks, that are simple and repetitive, much faster than a person could ever do. The most extensive use of bots is for web crawling, in which an automated script fetches, analyzes and files information from web servers. More than half of all web traffic is generated by bots.

It is part of the broader IP Multimedia Subsystem. Google has added support for end-to-end encryption for all chats in their own RCS-based app, Messages.

The interaction may be via text, graphical interface, or voice - as some virtual assistants are able to interpret human speech and respond via synthesized voices.

HipChat was a web service for internal private online chat and instant messaging. As well as one-on-one and group/topic chat, it also featured cloud-based file storage, video calling, searchable message-history and inline-image viewing. The software was available to download onto computers running Windows, Mac or Linux, as well as Android and iOS smartphones and tablets. Since 2014, HipChat used a freemium model, as much of the service was free with some additional features requiring organizations to pay per month. HipChat was launched in 2010 and acquired by Atlassian in 2012. In September 2017, Atlassian replaced the cloud-based HipChat with a new cloud product called Stride, with HipChat continuing on as the client-hosted HipChat Data Center.

Viber, or Rakuten Viber, is a cross-platform voice over IP (VoIP) and instant messaging (IM) software application owned by Japanese multinational company Rakuten, provided as freeware for the Google Android, iOS, Microsoft Windows, Apple macOS and Linux platforms. Users are registered and identified through a cellular telephone number, although the service is accessible on desktop platforms without needing mobile connectivity. In addition to instant messaging it allows users to exchange media such as images and video records, and also provides a paid international landline and mobile calling service called Viber Out. Software bots often compose software services and provide an alternative user interface, which is sometimes, but not necessarily conversational.

Character.ai is a neural language model chatbot service that can generate human-like text responses and participate in contextual conversation. Constructed by previous developers of Google's LaMDA, Noam Shazeer, and Daniel De Freitas, the beta model was made available to use by the public in September 2022.

In the field of artificial intelligence (AI), a hallucination or artificial hallucination is a confident response by an AI that does not seem to be justified by its training data. For example, a hallucinating chatbot might, when asked to generate a financial report for a company, falsely state that the company's revenue was $13.6 billion.

Inflection AI, Inc. is a machine learning startup founded by entrepreneurs Reid Hoffman, Mustafa Suleyman and Karén Simonyan in 2022. The company is structured as a public benefit corporation and is headquartered in Palo Alto, California.

Writesonic was founded by Samanyou Garg in October 2020, the company specializes in artificial intelligence tools for quick content creation. The platform is powered by GPT-3.5 and GPT4 32K but unlike ChatGPT, Writesonic allows its AI to provide real-time results based on real-time information provided by Google.
