Early life

Hutton grew up in Bethlehem, New York. She played for the Bethlehem High School varsity girls' soccer team beginning in seventh grade in 2018, winning Section 2 Class AA titles in seventh and eighth grade. [3] In 2019, aged 13, she set a school record with 36 goals, added 19 assists, and was named state player of the year. [3] [4] She made only 8 appearances over the next two seasons, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and her club and national team, but still recorded 12 goals and 9 assists. [3]

As a junior in 2022, Hutton joined her high school's varsity boys' team and played as a starting forward, recording four goals and one assist in 14 games. [3] [5] She played at the youth club level for the Albany Alleycats and World Class FC of the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL), earning all-conference honors in 2020–21 and All-American honors in 2021–22 and 2022–23. [6] [7] After graduating early from high school in 2023, she trained with NWSL teams North Carolina Courage, NJ/NY Gotham FC, and the Kansas City Current. [4] [6]

Club career

The Kansas City Current signed 17-year-old Hutton to a three-year contract in December 2023. [8] She had previously committed to the University of North Carolina; she instead planned to study at the University of Missouri–Kansas City. [9] She started for the Current from the 2024 season opener on March 16. [10] [11] Two months into her first NWSL season, she led the league in tackles won, with 30. [12] She recorded her first professional assist to Elizabeth Ball in a 1–0 win at the Utah Royals on May 25. [13]

International career

Hutton first represented the United States with the national under-17 team at the 2022 CONCACAF Women's U-17 Championship, scoring six goals as they won the tournament. [8] She captained the under-19 team at the 2023 Pan American Games, scoring two goals, and won bronze playing against other countries' senior teams. [6] [4] She played friendlies for the under-20 team in February 2024. [14]
