Chetumal is a city on the east coast of the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico. It is the capital of the state of Quintana Roo and the municipal seat of the Municipality of Othón P. Blanco. In 2020 it had a population of 169,028 people.
Quintana Roo, officially the Free and Sovereign State of Quintana Roo, is one of the 31 states which, with Mexico City, constitute the 32 federal entities of Mexico. It is divided into 11 municipalities and its capital city is Chetumal.
Cancún, often Cancun in English is a city in southeast Mexico on the northeast coast of the Yucatán Peninsula in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo. It is a significant tourist destination in Mexico and the seat of the municipality of Benito Juárez. The city is on the Caribbean Sea and is one of Mexico's easternmost points.

- Zona Pacífico covers the states of Baja California Sur, Chihuahua, Nayarit, Sinaloa, and Sonora. For most of the year, it is the equivalent of U.S. Mountain Time. The state of Sonora, like most of the adjacent U.S. state of Arizona, does not observe DST.
- Zona Noroeste covers the state of Baja California. It is identical to U.S. Pacific Time, including the DST schedule.
Sistema Sac Actun is an underwater cave system situated along the Caribbean coast of the Yucatán Peninsula with passages to the north and west of the city of Tulum. Discovery of a connection to the Sistema Dos Ojos in 2018 made it the longest known underwater cave system.

Roberto Borge Angulo is a Mexican politician affiliated with the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI). He served the 7th Governor of Quintana Roo (2011-2016). After the end of his term he was declared a criminal by the Mexican government due to proven crimes of corruption during his time as governor. Roberto Borge was arrested on June 5, 2017 at an Airport in Panama.
Same-sex marriage in Quintana Roo is performed and recognized in all municipalities of the state. The first two same-sex marriages occurred in Kantunilkin on 28 November 2011 after it was discovered that the state's Civil Code does not specify sex or gender requirements for marriage. However, future same-sex marriages were suspended in January 2012 upon review by the state's Secretary of State. The two same-sex marriages in the state were annulled by the Governor of Quintana Roo, Roberto Borge Angulo, in April 2012, but these annulments were reversed by the Secretary of State on 3 May. The Secretary of State's decision allows for future same-sex marriages to be performed in Quintana Roo.
Lizbeth Loy Gamboa Song is a Mexican politician and lawyer affiliated with the PRI. She served as a federal deputy of the LXII Legislature of the Mexican Congress representing Quintana Roo from the third electoral region.
Carlos Manuel Joaquín González is a Mexican politician, the governor of the state of Quintana Roo. From 2009 to 2012 he served as Deputy of the LXI Legislature of the Mexican Congress representing Quintana Roo.
Quintana Roo Municipality is one of the 106 municipalities in the Mexican state of Yucatán containing (139.24 km2) of land and located roughly 104 km east of the city of Mérida.
Mayuli Latifa Martínez Simón is a Mexican politician from the National Action Party. From 2018 to 2021, she served as Senator of the LXIV Legislature of the Mexican Congress representing Quintana Roo.
