The Department of Local Infrastructure (DoLI), is a department under the Ministry of Urban Development of Nepal, responsible for assisting local governments in the engineering aspects of civil engineering construction including rural, urban and agriculture road/bridge construction and mentinance. It has its branch offices. [1] [2]

History

Department of Local Infrastructure Development and Agricultural Road (DoLIDAR) was established in 2055 BS under Ministry of Local Development and Administration. It was later moved to Ministry of Urban Development and renamed as Department of Local Infrastructure. [1]

Organization

The department is run by officers of Nepal Engineering Service (Civil/General). Under the department, there are 370 technical officers running the department and it's branch offices. There are 12 branch offices namely: [3] [4]

Pyuthan is a municipality in the Pyuthan District in the Lumbini Province of Nepal. This municipality is named after the district name Pyuthan. It is also the major market center and the administrative center of district. The municipality was established on 18 May 2014 by merging the existing VDCs Khaira, Dakha Kwadi, Bijaya Nagar, Bijuwar, Dharmawati, Maranthana and Khalanga village development committees. In 2017, when GoN restructured the local level bodies into 753 units, Pyuthan Municipality was also restructured excluding ward no. 1, 2, 3, 5 and 18 from old structure, further two other VDCs; Majhkot and Jumrikanda added, Khalanga separated and managed the municipality into 10 new wards. Nayabajar Jumri and Bijuwar are the major markets of Pyuthan Municipality.

WBPWD is one of the prestigious departments under the control of Government of West Bengal. Under PWD, the Public Works and Public Works (Roads) Directorates are presently charged with the planning, survey, design, construction and maintenance of Roads, Bridges and Buildings throughout the state as well as having various responsibilities for emergency and relief activities.

Department of Urban Development and Building Construction under Ministry of Urban Development is the authority to assure safe and affordable building construction throughout the nation through planned settlement. Its also responsible for promoting construction of safer, economic and sustainable buildings meeting the basic needs of the general public.

Department of Road under Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Transport is the authority to for construction, development and maintenance of roads. It aims to increase the connectivity to all the areas of Nepal. Being a sector of paramount importance, the department accounts for a significant amount of National budget.

The Department of Water Supply and Sewerage Management (DoWSSM) is a department under the Ministry of Water Supply of Nepal, responsible planning implementing, operation and repair/maintenance of water supply and sanitation systems.

Department of Water Resources and Irrigation under Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation is the authority to plan, develop, maintain, operate, manage and monitor different Irrigation Projects. It also works under the sector of Water Induced Disaster Management. Being a sector of paramount importance, the department accounts for a significant amount of National budget.
