Dewayne Everettsmith is an Australian singer based in Hobart. He released his debut album Surrender in 2014. [1] The album includes the song "Melaythina" which is the first commercially available song sung in Palawa kani. [2]

His song "It's Like Love" with Jasmine Beams was featured in a Tourism Australia advertising campaign. [3] He has performed as part of The Black Arm Band [4] and alongside Briggs and Gurrumul on the update of Archie Roach's Charcoal Lane. [5] [6]

Born near the mouth of the Murray River in the Coorong region of South Australia, Hunter was forcibly taken from her family at the age of eight as part of the Stolen Generation.

Flesh and Wood is the seventh album by Australian rock singer Jimmy Barnes, which was issued in December 1993. It was recorded by Barnes and Don Gehman co-producing and used only acoustic instruments. On eight of its fifteen tracks, Barnes duets with various artists: Diesel, Archie Roach, Joe Cocker, Ross Wilson, Tommy Emmanuel, Don Walker, Deborah Conway, and the Badloves. It reached No. 2 on the ARIA Albums Chart.

Black Arm Band is an Aboriginal Australian and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) music theatre organisation. The organisation was founded in late 2005 by Steven Richardson and has produced seven large-scale productions since its debut performance at the Melbourne Festival of the Arts in 2006 in addition to ongoing educational and development work in remote Aboriginal communities. Members are drawn from around Australia and include both blackfulla and whitefulla musicians with diverse musical backgrounds. The organisation's name comes from a speech by former Australian Prime Minister John Howard who referred to a "black armband view of history". Their first show, murundak, debuted at the 2006 Melbourne International Arts Festival and has since played around Australia and internationally in London, and their second show, Hidden Republic, debuted at the 2008 Melbourne International Arts Festival, both festivals being under the artistic direction of Kristy Edmunds.

"Colour of Your Jumper" is a song written by Australian singer songwriter Archie Roach in 1993, following an incident where indigenous Australian Football League player Nicky Winmar was receiving racial abuse from spectators resulting in Winmar lifting up his jumper and, facing to the crowd, pointed to his skin. A demo of this version was later included on the 2013 compilation album Creation.
