The Buffalo Braves were an American professional basketball franchise based in Buffalo, New York. The Braves competed in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member club of the league's Eastern Conference Atlantic Division from 1970 until 1978. In 1978, Braves owner John Y. Brown Jr. swapped franchises with then-Boston Celtics owner Irv Levin, who then moved the team to San Diego, where it was renamed the San Diego Clippers. The franchise moved to Los Angeles in 1984, and is now known as the Los Angeles Clippers.
Glenn Anton "Doc" Rivers is an American former professional basketball coach, player, and current analyst for ESPN. He played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for 14 seasons and served as a head coach for 25 seasons.

As a power forward, he played for the New Jersey Nets, Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Clippers, New York Knicks and Milwaukee Bucks of the NBA, and the Xinjiang Flying Tigers of China. He played college basketball for the Cincinnati Bearcats and was named the national college player of the year during his senior season. Martin was drafted with the first overall pick in the 2000 NBA draft by the New Jersey Nets. He was an NBA All-Star in 2004.

He won two NBA championships with the Lakers in 1980 and 1982, at the beginning of their Showtime era.

As of March 2019, he is the NBA's career leader in points off the bench, and has played the most career games off the bench, surpassing Dell Curry's record in February 2022.

He played college basketball for the Oklahoma Sooners, when he was named the consensus national college player of the year as a sophomore. Griffin was selected first overall by the Los Angeles Clippers in the 2009 NBA draft, and has since been a six-time NBA All-Star and a five-time All-NBA selection. In January 2018, Griffin was traded to the Detroit Pistons and played for them until 2021. In March 2021, Griffin signed with the Brooklyn Nets. In September 2022, Griffin signed with the Boston Celtics. He is currently a free agent as of 2023.

The 1992–93 NBA season was the Clippers' 23rd season in the National Basketball Association, and their 9th season in Los Angeles. In the 1992 NBA draft, the Clippers selected Randy Woods out of La Salle University with the sixteenth overall pick, and selected Elmore Spencer out of UNLV with the 25th overall pick. In the off-season, the team acquired Mark Jackson from the New York Knicks, acquired second-year center Stanley Roberts from the Orlando Magic in a three-team trade, acquired Hot Plate Williams from the Washington Bullets, and signed free agent Kiki Vandeweghe. After losing their first three games, the Clippers played solid basketball winning 12 of their next 16 games, and later held a 26–25 record at the All-Star break. The Clippers finished fourth in the Pacific Division with a 41–41 record, making their second consecutive playoff appearance.
