Endemol Shine Australia is based in Sydney, Australia. The company’s programming includes various shows on Australian free-to-air networks and pay TV channels, such as MasterChef, Australian Survivor, Big Brother, LEGO Masters, Australian Ninja Warrior, Married at First Sight, Gogglebox Australia, and Ambulance Australia. Endemol Shine Australia also produces dramas such as Offspring, Peter Allen: Not The Boy Next Door, and INXS: Never Tear Us Apart.

Following an acquisition of shares, production company Endemol Australia merged with Shine Australia on July 26, 2015.

Endemol Shine Australia is also included in the current library from Hanna-Barbera Pty, Ltd./Taft-Hardie Group Pty. Ltd and Southern Television.

History

In January 2010, Shine Australia was founded as a part of the Shine Group. It was jointly led by CEOs Mark Fennessy and Carl Fennessy, who had previously worked at FremantleMedia Australia and Crackerjack Productions. [2] Shine Australia is not to be mistaken for the long-serving entertainment and talent company Shine International Entertainment, who own the registered trademark and have been operating in Australia since 1932.

On February 24, 2016, producer Imogen Banks began to head a new division of Endemol Shine Australia called Endemol Shine Banks, Its main focus is drama productions. [3]

In 2020, Peter Newman was announced as CEO. [4]

<i>Wake in Fright</i> (miniseries) 2017 television miniseries

Wake in Fright is an Australian miniseries based on Kenneth Cook's 1961 novel of the same name, which first aired on Network Ten in October 2017. Directed by Kriv Stenders and written by Stephen M. Irwin, the series features an ensemble cast that includes Sean Keenan, Alex Dimitriades, Caren Pistorius, David Wenham, Anna Samson, Gary Sweet, and Robyn Malcolm.

RFDS: Royal Flying Doctor Service is an Australian drama television series which centres around the lives of workers for the Royal Flying Doctor Service. Commissioned by the Seven Network and produced by Endemol Shine Australia, it began airing on 11 August 2021. The series was renewed for a second season in June 2022 to commence screening on 15 August 2023. The series was renewed for a third season during the 2023 Channel 7 Upfronts.
