Football Club West United is a Surinamese football club based in Totness, Coronie District, Suriname. The club presently compete in the Eerste Klasse, the 2nd tier of Surinamese football. [1]

History

FC West United are a football club from the Coronie District in Suriname, the team play their home games in Totness at the Letitia Vriesde Sportcomplex to a capacity of 1,000. [2] In 2013 the team won the Lidbondentoernooi, defeating Deva Boys and thus promoting to the Eerste Klasse, the 2nd tier of football in Suriname. The team finished in tenth place in the first season. [3]

In 2014 the team made it to the Semi-finals of the Surinamese Cup by defeating the Deva Boys in the quarterfinals. [4] In the Semi-finals the team lost to Notch from Moengo. [5]

In 2015 West United were paired with Notch once more in the first round of the Surinamese Cup. This time however West United were able to defeat Notch, thus progressing in the tournament by eliminating last years runner-up of the competition. [6]

The 2011–12 Surinamese Hoofdklasse will be the 79th season of the Surinamese Hoofdklasse, the highest football league competition of Suriname. The season will begin in either October or November 2011, and conclude in July 2012. Walking Bout Company are the defending regular stage champions, while Inter Moengotapoe are the defending playoff stage champions.

The SVB Derde Divisie is an annual football tournament organized by the Surinamese Football Association (SVB) since 2006. It is also known as the SURIBET Lidbondentoernooi due to sponsorship. The tournament is contested by the winners and runners-up of the districts leagues from the 20 regional member associations of the SVB. The winner and runner-up of the tournament can then qualify for the Tweede Divisie, the 3rd tier of football in Suriname. In 2017, the competition was rebranded as the SVB Derde Divisie.

Letitia Vriesde Sportcomplex is a multi-purpose stadium in Totness, Suriname. It is home to SVB Eerste Klasse club F.C. West United. Former top flight clubs and Coronie Sport Bond (CSB) members F.C. Corona and S.V. Coronie Boys are also tenants of the stadium.

The 2017–18 SVB Cup was the 27th season of the Surinamese Cup. The competition began on 6 January and ended on 30 June 2018.
