Farjam Behnam (born in 1966 in Tehran, Iran) is an editor, researcher and founder of Iran Almanac .

He joined The Echo of Iran in 1998 and started his work as an editor and translator. In 2000 he started his own company and website, [1] which is still online.

Selected to be a delegate for the UNHCR Refugee Congress in Washington D.C. As a delegate, Mr. Behnam represents resettled refugees in the state of Virginia. [2]

Ahmad Ghazi was a Kurdish writer and translator. He was born in 1936 in Mahabad. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in English in Tehran Higher Institute of Languages in 1958. He played an active role in Iranian Kurdistan struggles for political sovereignty in the 1970s, because of which he was imprisoned under Shah's rule for four years. After the Iranian Revolution of 1979, he managed himself to write and translate literary and historical works both in Kurdish and Persian. His studies are mostly in the role of the Christian scholars and missionaries, their effect on the renaissance of Iraq during the 19th century and the early 20th century. His work is very well respected from all ethnic and religious groups of Iraq.

Abidar Open Air Cinema, one of the biggest outdoor cinemas, was built by mayor Ardavan Nosoudi in 1995 over the Amireih valley in Sanandaj, capital city of Kurdistan Province, Iran. There used to show a movie every Friday. Until just a few years ago, the only video that could be played in the Abidar cinema was by 35 mm movie projectors and using other sources like TV, DVD, etc. was not possible. The sound was then broadcast through the transmitter, people were listening through radio using FM broadcast band frequency but that was not comfortable because of the audio and video was not synchronize. Recently it is switched from 35mm film to Digital Cinema projector. Using DLP Cinema offers a perfect resolution of 1080*2048 with 1:2000 contrast, in 3D with bright, stunning clarity. AIRSCREEN screen surface size is 90x38ft / 27x11 m and distance of facilities from cinema screen is 47m. Audio is provided by the Community R2 loudspeakers 3-way, triaxial, full-range systems. Sound can be heard from three hundred meters away With the amplifier rated at approximately 400 watts and the frequency response 70 Hz to 16 kHz ±1dB, Sound can be heard up to about 300 meter away.

Ahmad Khatami is a professor of Persian language and literature, a lecturer at the Department of Persian Language and Literature, and the head of the Center of Excellence of Persian Literary History at Shahid Beheshti University in Iran.

Tayfour Bathaii(born March 8, 1947), writer, film director, activist, was born in Sanandaj, Iran. After finishing high school in Sanandaj, he started his 2-year mandatory military services as a teacher. From 1969 to 1972, he attended the Tehran School of Television and Cinema to become a TV cameraman. In the 70's, due to his leftist tendencies and alleged affiliation with the "Group of 12" accused of plotting to kidnap Farah Pahlavi, the Queen of Iran, and the crown prince, he was tried and sentenced to life in prison. During the revolution of 1979 in Iran, along with other political prisoners, he was released and returned to Sanandaj, a Province of Kurdistan, Iran. He joined the Democratic Party of Kurdistan and was a member of this party until 1985. He has continued his life in Sweden since then as a political activist, writer, sculptor, and film director. He also teaches cinema and documentary cinematography.

Ali Gheissari is an Iranian historian and sociologist. He teaches history at the University of San Diego and has research interest in the intellectual history of modern Iran and in modern philosophy and social theory. He has been visiting professor of religious studies at Brown University, Iranian Studies at St. Antony's College, Oxford, and History of Modern Iran at the University of California, Irvine. He is known for his works on the intellectual history and politics of modern Iran. He is on the Editorial Board of Iran Studies book series published by Brill, and has served as the Editor-in-Chief of the journal Iranian Studies.
