The Florida State Seminoles are the athletic teams representing Florida State University located in Tallahassee, Florida. They compete as a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I level, primarily competing in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) for all sports since the 1991–92 season; within the Atlantic Division in any sports split into a divisional format since the 2005–06 season.

The team was coached by Bobby Bowden and played their home games at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee, Florida. They were members of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and the Atlantic Division.

The Florida–Florida State football rivalry is an American college football rivalry between the teams of the two oldest public universities of the U.S. state of Florida: the University of Florida (UF) Gators and Florida State University (FSU) Seminoles. Both universities participate in a range of intercollegiate sports, and for the last several years, the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services has sponsored a "Sunshine Showdown" promotion that tallies the total number of wins for each school in head-to-head sports competition. However, the annual football game between the Gators and Seminoles has consistently been the most intense and notable competition between the in-state rivals.
Randall William Spetman is an American college athletic director who was most recently athletic director at Florida State University from 2008 to 2013. Spetman has also been the director of athletics at Utah State University and the United States Air Force Academy. He was a vice president of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics during the 2009–10 academic year.
Angela Tincher O'Brien is an American, former collegiate All-American, retired professional All-Star softball pitcher and coach. She most recently served as the pitching coach at Virginia Tech. She was a 2008 first-round draft selection for the NPF Akron Racers. She is a graduate of James River High School and a 2008 graduate of Virginia Tech. In 2013, she was hired as Virginia Tech's softball pitching coach where she owns numerous school records. She is the ACC career leader in wins, strikeouts, shutouts, innings pitched, strikeout ratio and no-hitters, while also ranking in several records for the NCAA Division I, where she is one of five pitchers to achieve 100 wins, 1,000 strikeouts, an ERA under 1.00 and average double-digit strikeouts for her career.
The Clemson–Florida State football rivalry is an American college football rivalry between the Clemson Tigers football team of Clemson University and Florida State Seminoles football team of Florida State University. The schools have played each other annually since 1992. Both universities are members of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), and during the era of ACC divisional play between 2005 and 2022, both teams competed in the ACC's Atlantic Division. For several years in the late 1990s and early 2000s, the matchup was known alternatively as the Bowden Bowl for the father, former head coach Bobby Bowden of the Seminoles, and the son, Tommy Bowden, formerly head coach of the Tigers.

The Florida Gators softball team represents the University of Florida in the sport of softball. Florida competes in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) and the Southeastern Conference (SEC). The Gators play their home games at Katie Seashole Pressly Softball Stadium on the university's Gainesville, Florida campus, and are currently led by head coach Tim Walton. In the twenty-six year history of the Florida Softball program, the team has won two Women's College World Series (WCWS) national championships, nine SEC regular season championships, five SEC tournament championships, and have made eleven WCWS appearances.
The 2013–14 Florida State Seminoles men's basketball team, variously Florida State or FSU, represented Florida State University during the 2013–14 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Florida State competes in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The Seminoles were led by twelfth year head coach Leonard Hamilton and played their home games at the Donald L. Tucker Center on the university's Tallahassee, Florida campus. They are members of the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Lacey Waldrop is an American, former collegiate All-American professional softball pitcher and current assistant coach at Houston. Waldrop was a starting pitcher for Florida State, where she is the school career leader in wins and was named USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year in 2014. Waldrop was drafted third overall in the 2015 NPF Draft by the Chicago Bandits, and won two consecutive Cowles Cup championships with the Bandits in 2015 and 2016.
Jessica Burroughs is an American former collegiate All-American professional softball pitcher. She played college softball at Florida State, being named a four-time all-conference and back-to-back Pitcher of the Year in her last two seasons. She would help the Seminoles to a semifinal finish at the 2016 Women's College World Series. Burroughs was selected first overall by the USSSA Pride in the 2017 NPF Draft. She went on to play for and win consecutive titles with the Pride in 2018 and 2019. She later played in the inaugural season of the Athletes Unlimited Softball league in 2020.
Alana Maree "Lonni" Alameda is an American softball coach who is the current head coach at Florida State. She has been head coach at Florida State since 2009, in addition to the USSSA Pride of National Pro Fastpitch from 2016 to 2017. Alameda is also currently an assistant coach for Team Canada.
Jessica "Jessie" Lynn Warren is an American, former collegiate All-American, professional softball player. She played college softball for the Florida State Seminoles, winning the 2018 Women's College World Series national title as a senior, and was subsequently named Most Outstanding Player for the series.

JoAnne Graf is an American former softball coach and Associate Professor in Sport Management at Florida State University. As coach of the Florida State Seminoles women's softball team from 1979 to 2008, she logged more wins than any coach in the history of NCAA Division I softball. On April 2, 2005, Florida State University renamed their softball stadium in her honor as the JoAnne Graf Field at the Seminole Softball Complex.

The USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year is an award given by USA Softball to the best college softball player of the year. The award has been given annually since 2002. The award is voted on by coaching representatives of 10 Division I conferences in the 10 USA Softball regions, members of the media who consistently cover Division I softball across the country, as well as past winners of the award.
