John J. Madden is a Canadian former professional ice hockey centre. He played 13 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL), most prominently for the New Jersey Devils. An undrafted player from the University of Michigan, he won the Stanley Cup three times during his NHL career: twice with the Devils and once with the Chicago Blackhawks. Madden was noted during his career for his ability to kill penalties, play both ends of the ice and score shorthanded goals.

Henry Lewis Morrison was a Canadian professional ice hockey player who played 564 National Hockey League (NHL) games for the Philadelphia Flyers, Atlanta Flames, Washington Capitals, and Pittsburgh Penguins between 1969 and 1978. Morrison played junior with the Flin Flon Bombers of the Western Canada Hockey League, and was selected by the Flyers 8th overall in the 1968 NHL Amateur Draft. He made his professional debut that year with the Flyers' American Hockey League affiliate, the Quebec Aces, and joined Philadelphia for the 1969–70 season. After three seasons with the Flyers Morrison was claimed by the expansion Atlanta Flames in 1972, and played two seasons there before joining another expansion team, the Washington Capitals. He briefly played for Washington before being traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins, where he would play the last four years of his career.
Denis Erio Pederson is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. He played a total of 435 games in the National Hockey League and then went on to great success playing for Eisbären Berlin in Germany.
William Raymond Muckalt is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player who was most recently the associate head coach at Michigan. He was the head coach and general manager of the Tri-City Storm of the United States Hockey League. Muckalt played in the National Hockey League for the Vancouver Canucks, New York Islanders, Ottawa Senators and Minnesota Wild from 1998 until 2003. In 2016, Muckalt led the Tri-City Storm to its first Clark Cup during his first season as head coach and general manager.

He is the son of Hockey Hall of Famer Darryl Sittler and brother of former Team USA player Meaghan Sittler. Sittler was born in London, Ontario, but grew up in Buffalo, New York.

The Michigan Wolverines men's ice hockey team is the college ice hockey team that represents the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Earning varsity status in 1922, the program has competed in 100 seasons. Between 1959 and 1981, the team competed in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) before joining the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) until the 2012–13 season. Since the 2013–14 season, the Wolverines have competed in the Big Ten, which began sponsoring hockey.
