The Salt Lake City School District (SLCSD) is the oldest public school district in Utah. Boundaries for the district are identical to the city limits for Salt Lake City. Employing about 1,300 teachers who instruct about 25,000 students K-12, the district is the ninth largest in the state, as of 2009, behind Granite, Davis, Alpine, Jordan, Canyons, Weber, Nebo, and Washington. Two of the district's high schools, East and West, are over 100 years old.
The Commonwealth School, often referred to simply as Commonwealth, is a private, co-educational high school of about 150 students and 35 faculty members located in the downtown Back Bay neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts, United States. It is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.

This makes Granite the third largest school district in the state of Utah behind Alpine School District in Utah County and Davis County School District. Other school districts in the area include the Salt Lake City School District and the Murray School District.
John W. North High School is a public high school in Riverside, California, part of the Riverside Unified School District, and the home of the Huskies. It is an International Baccalaureate school.

Provo Canyon School (PCS) is a psychiatric youth involuntary residential treatment center in Provo, Utah, owned and operated by Universal Health Services (UHS) since 2000. The involuntary residential program claims to use an "Acuity Based Care" (ABC) model that identifies and re-assesses the strengths and needs of its students. Residents instead receive a wide range of interventions including psychotropic drug therapy; use of physical restraints; humiliation; starvation; and solitary confinement.
Davis High School is a public school located in Kaysville, Utah, United States. It is operated by the Davis School District. Known as the Davis Darts, the mascot of the school is Dart Man. One of the largest and oldest high schools in the state, the school was established in 1914 and underwent reconstruction during the 2003–2004 school year.
Liahona Preparatory Academy is a regionally accredited private school in Utah County, Utah, United States, that offers instruction to students from pre-kindergarten through grade 12. The school was founded by Brent and Kolleen DeGraff. In 2019, the DeGraffs retired and the school was sold to the Long Family and is currently run by Jordan Long, a graduate of and long time teacher/administrator at Liahona. The school blends core academics with the principles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Liahona has been in operation since 1998, and is named after an artifact described in The Book of Mormon.
South High School was a high school in Salt Lake City, Utah, which operated from 1931 to 1988. The school was located on the southern end of Salt Lake City proper, at 1575 S. State Street. The school is now a campus of Salt Lake Community College, with a section dedicated to the Salt Lake City School District's Innovations Early College High School and Career and Technical Center, both at the south end of the campus, on the first and second floor, respectively.
Utah County Academy of Sciences (UCAS) is a small charter high school in association with Utah Valley University (UVU) in Orem, Utah, United States. UCAS students travel from school districts in the surrounding Utah County area, including Nebo School District, Alpine School District, and Provo School District.

The University of Illinois Laboratory High School, also known as Uni High or just Uni, was established in 1921 and is a laboratory school located on the engineering section of the University of Illinois campus in Urbana, Illinois. Its enrolls about 300 students, spanning five years. The school's alumni include three Nobel laureates and a Pulitzer Prize winner. In 2022, Uni High was named as a top-15 public school in Illinois by Niche and the following year rose to a top-15 public school in the nation. In 2006 and 2008, it was recognized as a "public elite" school by Newsweek because of its students' high scores on the SAT. Before the change in the SAT's format in 2016, the average SAT score was 2045, and now varies from 1400 to 1600. As of 2019, the average SAT was a 1470. The average ACT score is a 32.
Woods Cross High School is a public high school in Woods Cross, Utah, in the Davis School District. It is sometimes abbreviated as WXHS. As of the 2019–20 school year, the principal is Deanne Kapetanov. The assistant principals are Todd Hammond, Mike Moss, and Jessika Christensen 1,485 students were enrolled at that time.

Kearns-Saint Ann School is a Catholic school for preschool to eighth grade students, located in South Salt Lake, Utah. Founded as St. Ann's Orphanage in 1891, it became a parochial school in 1955. The historical school building, completed in 1899, was gifted by Jennie Judge Kearns, wife of mining magnate Thomas Kearns, for whom it is named.
