The Hamburg bid for the 2024 Summer Olympics (Low Saxon : Hamborg 2024) was a cancelled bid of Hamburg to host the 2024 Summer Olympics.
A referendum on 29 November 2015 rejected the bid. [1]
In October 2012, Thomas Bach, president of the IOC, stated that Hamburg will apply for the 2024 Summer Olympics. Hamburg could combine the water based and the other non-water based games in a very small circle, due to its good location. Hamburg would host the games the first time and would therefore be preferred to Berlin. [2]
On 16 March 2015, the National Olympic Committee (DOSB) proposed Hamburg to be the candidate city from Germany. [3] On 21 March 2015, the DOSB's general assembly confirmed the decision to allow Hamburg to bid for the games.
In its 2024 bid, Hamburg re-used the logo and the slogan of their bid to host the 2012 Summer Olympics. The logo had a wave of water turning into a flame, referring to the water that is a defining aspect of Hamburg's cityscape and the Olympic flame. The slogan was "Feuer und Flamme", or "Fire and Flame", combining the Olympic flame with a German expression translating to "to be fire and flame for something", meaning to be very enthusiastic and/or excited about something. (West) Germany last hosted the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich and also had recent experience with the success of the 1974 and 2006 World Cups, where Hamburg was one of the host cities.
On 13 April 2015, it was announced that Kiel would be Hamburg's venue for all sailing competitions. [4]
On 29 November 2015, Hamburg held a referendum on hosting the 2024 Summer Olympics; 51.6% of the voters said no. [5]
The IOC has designated Paris as the host of the 2024 Summer Olympics and Los Angeles as the host the 2028 Summer Olympics. [6]
Paris 2012 was an unsuccessful bid for the 2012 Summer Olympics to be held in Paris. The bidding race was eventually won by the London 2012 bid after a 54–50 vote of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on 6 July 2005. The French capital's failure to win the 2012 games follows the attempts of the Paris 2008 and Paris 1992 bids.

Thomas Bach is a German lawyer, former Olympic foil fencer and Olympic gold medalist, serving as the ninth and current president of the International Olympic Committee since 10 September 2013. He is also a former member of the German Olympic Sports Confederation executive board. Bach is the first ever Olympic champion to be elected President of the IOC.
Three cities applied with bids to host the 2018 Winter Olympics and Paralympics in October 2009. The International Olympic Committee, under the leadership of Jacques Rogge, received three bids on October 15, 2009. The cities of Annecy, France, in the French Alps, Munich, Germany, and Pyeongchang, South Korea, a two-time previous bidder, competed for the hosting rights to the event. This was the lowest number of bidding cities since the 1988 Summer Olympics, coincidentally also won by South Korea. The winning bid was announced on July 6, 2011, at the 123rd IOC Session in Durban, South Africa by IOC President Jacques Rogge at 5.22 pm local time Pyeongchang beat Munich and Annecy in the first round of votes with 63 of the 95 total votes.

The 2026 Winter Olympics, officially the XXV Olympic Winter Games and also known as Milano Cortina 2026, is an upcoming international multi-sport event scheduled to take place from 6 to 22 February 2026. The event will have the Italian cities of Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo as main host cities. The joint bid from the two cities beat another joint bid from Swedish cities Stockholm–Åre by 47–34 votes to be elected host cities at the 134th Session of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in Lausanne, Switzerland, on 24 June 2019.

These games mark the first time Paris will host the Paralympics in its history and the second time that France will host the Paralympic Games, as Tignes and Albertville joint hosted the 1992 Winter Paralympics. The final decision was made by the IOC on 13 September 2017, at their annual session in Lima, Peru.

A total of seven bids were initially submitted for the 2026 Winter Olympics. Four of the bids were subsequently withdrawn after entering the candidature stage, leaving Milan–Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy and Stockholm–Åre, Sweden as the only two remaining candidate bids. Milan–Cortina d'Ampezzo was elected as the host city at the 134th IOC Session in Lausanne, Switzerland, on 24 June 2019.

Paris formally announced its intention to bid on 23 June 2015 – the date on which Olympic Day is globally celebrated. Following withdrawals in the 2024 Summer Olympics bidding process that led to just two candidate cities, the IOC announced that the 2028 Summer Olympics would be awarded at the same time as the 2024 Games. After Los Angeles agreed on 31 July 2017 to host the 2028 Games. It was officially announced at the IOC Session in Lima, Peru.
The Budapest bid for the 2024 Summer Olympics and Summer Paralympics was announced by the Hungarian Olympic Committee on 11 November 2013, although organisers had been planning a bid since 2008. However, on March 1st, 2017, Budapest withdrew its bid to host the 2024 Summer Olympics, leaving only Los Angeles and Paris in the race.
The Rome bid for the 2024 Summer Olympics and Summer Paralympics was an attempt to bring the 2024 Summer Olympics to the city of Rome. On 21 September 2016, Rome withdrew its bid for the Games.
The bidding process of UEFA Euro 2024 ended on 27 September 2018 in Nyon, Switzerland, when Germany was announced to be the host. Two bids came before the deadline, 3 March 2017, which were Germany and Turkey as single bids.
The 2032 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the XXXV Olympiad and also known as Brisbane 2032, will be an international multi-sport event scheduled to take place from 23 July to 8 August 2032, in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
The selection of the host for the 2032 Summer Olympics saw a new process being introduced from 2019. The bidding process saw Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, chosen as the preferred and expected host that was officially certified by the IOC on the eve of the 2020 Summer Olympics on 21 July 2021 in Tokyo, Japan.
