Hemmets Journal (English: Journal of the Home) is a Swedish family magazine published by Egmont. [1] It was the second largest weekly magazine in Sweden in 2009. [2]

History and profile

The first issue of Hemmets Journal was published in 1921. [3] It was a Swedish version of the popular Danish magazine Hjemmet that was first published in 1904. Hjemmet was printed by the Danish publishing company Gutenberghus (which later became Egmont) and the Swedish version was published by its own subsidiary of Gutenberghus, Hemmets Journals Förlag.

The editor-in-chief is Janne Walles, who has held that position since 1990. As of 2008, there are approximately 40 employees working on Hemmets Journal. The magazine's head office has been located in Västra hamnen, a city district in Malmö, since 2005. It was previously located in Kirseberg, also in Malmö. [4]

Statistics have shown that the average readers of Hemmets Journal are 56-year-old women living in smaller cities across Sweden. [4] Features in the magazine include editorials, [5] interviews, [6] fashion reports, [7] crosswords, [8] poetry, [9] horoscopes, [10] and recipes. [11]

Circulation

Hemmets Journal sold 217,800 copies in 2008. [12] The magazine had a circulation of 230,000 copies, [4] with a total of 507,000 readers as of June 2009.[ citation needed ] In addition, Hemmets Journal had 150,000 online readers in 2007. [13] The magazine's readership decreased by 10,000 people in 2006, [14] and approximately 5,000 readers in 2007. [15] Between January 2007 and January 2009, the readership of Hemmets Journal decreased from 543,000 to 507,000 readers. Allers (with 548,000 readers) is the only weekly magazine that is larger than Hemmets Journal, although Hemmets Journal was larger at the beginning of 2008.[ citation needed ]Hemmets Journal is also the second largest family magazine in Sweden.[ citation needed ] In 2014 the magazine sold 169,100 copies. Malmö Arena is a multi-purpose indoor arena in Malmö, Sweden, and the venue for home games of SHL ice hockey club Malmö Redhawks. It is the largest arena in the SHL, and the second-largest indoor arena in Sweden. Apart from hosting Redhawks hockey matches, the arena is often the venue for team handball, floorball, concerts, and other events. It has also hosted indoor athletics. It hosted the Eurovision Song Contest between 14 to 18 May 2013, and will host the same event again between 7 to 11 May 2024.

<i>Kalle Anka & C:o</i> Swedish Disney comics magazine

Kalle Anka & C:o is a Swedish weekly Disney comics magazine, published by Egmont. The 52-page comic, launched in September 1948, is the overall best-selling Swedish comic magazine. In the early years, the comic printed translated stories from the United States, including Walt Disney's Comics and Stories, Four Color and other Dell Comics Disney titles. As Disney comics production waned in the United States in the 1960s, Kalle Anka began printing more European-produced content, from Scandinavia and Italy. Now, Kalle Anka & C:o and its Scandinavian sister editions Anders And & Co. (Denmark) and Donald Duck & Co (Norway) are identical, apart from the language.

Emir Bajrami is a Swedish former professional footballer who played as a winger. Starting off his professional career with IF Elfsborg in 2006, he went on to represent FC Twente, AS Monaco, and Panathinaikos before retiring at Elfsborg in 2018. A full international between 2010 and 2012, he won 18 caps for the Sweden national team and was included in the squad for UEFA Euro 2012.

She competed in Let's Dance during 2009 on TV4, teaming up with professional dancer Tobias Karlsson. Höglund and Karlsson placed fourth in the competition.
