The Honolulu Sharks were a minor league baseball team in the Hawaii Winter Baseball league based in Honolulu, Hawaii. The Sharks name comes from the large number of shark species native to the waters of Hawaii. They played their home games at the Les Murakami Baseball Stadium.

Hawaii Winter Baseball (HWB), based in Honolulu, Hawaii, was a professional baseball league in the Hawaiian islands. It was loosely affiliated with Major League Baseball (MLB).

Hans L'Orange Field is a stadium in Waipahu, Hawai'i. It is primarily used for baseball, and is the home field of Hawaii Pacific University's men's baseball team, the Sharks, since 2016. It was the home field of the Hawaii Winter Baseball teams North Shore Honu and West Oahu CaneFires before the league folded. It holds 2,200 people.

Representatives of all 30 Major League Baseball teams and their 120 Minor League Baseball affiliates convene for four days each December in the Winter Meetings to discuss league business and conduct off-season trades and transactions. Attendees include league executives, team owners, general managers, team scouts, visitors from baseball-playing countries, trade show exhibitors, and people seeking employment with minor league organizations. The Rule 5 draft, in which minor league players who are not on a team's 40-man roster can be drafted by a major league team, is held on the last day of the meetings.

The 2018 Little League World Series was held from August 16 to August 26 at the Little League headquarters complex in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Eight teams from the United States and eight teams from around the world competed in the 72nd edition of the tournament. Honolulu Little League of Honolulu, Hawaii defeated South Seoul Little League of Seoul, South Korea in the championship by a 3–0 score. It was the third championship for a team from Hawaii, having won previously in 2005 and 2008.

Joshua Rico Garcia is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Oakland Athletics of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has previously played in MLB for the Colorado Rockies, San Francisco Giants and Baltimore Orioles. He played college baseball for Hawaii Pacific University. He was drafted by the Rockies in the 30th round of the 2016 Major League Baseball draft, and made his MLB debut with them in 2019.

The Kaneohe Bay Dawgs were a planned expansion Hawaii Winter Baseball team based in the Kaneohe Bay area of Oahu, Hawaii. The Kaneohe Bay Dawgs franchise folded before playing the 1996–1997 winter league season.

The Padres Paradise Series was a three-game Major League Baseball regular season series between the San Diego Padres and St. Louis Cardinals at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii, on April 19 and 20, 1997. These were the first regular-season major league games played in Hawaii. The Padres were the home team for all three games. The Cardinals won the opening two games on April 19, winning the first 1–0 and the second 2–1. The Padres won the third game on April 20 by a score of 8–2. Reported attendances were 37,382 and 40,050.
