Iran competed at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece, from 13 to 29 August 2004. The nation has competed at every Summer Olympic games, since its official debut in 1948 with the exception of the 1980 and 1984 Summer Olympics. The National Olympic Committee of the Islamic Republic of Iran sent a total of 38 athletes, 37 men and 1 woman, to compete in 10 sports. Half-lightweight judoka Arash Miresmaeili, who later forfeited his first match against Israel's Ehud Vaks for medical reasons, was the nation's flag bearer in the opening ceremony.

This would be the last Olympics Iran would take part in until the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, due to the Iranian Revolution two years later and the eventual outbreak of the Iran–Iraq War.

Mansour Bagheri is an Iranian retired Taekwondo athlete who represented Iran in two olympic games 1988 and 1992, finishing in the +83 kg 5th place both times.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Fred Imhoff</span> Dutch sailor

Ferdinand "Fred" Helmuth Imhoff is a sailor from the Netherlands, who represented his country at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Kiel, Germany as helmsman in the Flying Dutchman Brave Henderik IV (H-230). With crew Simon Korver they took the 10th place. Imhoff was the substitute for the Dragon during the 1968 Olympics.
