Irina Atykovna Azizyan (9 April 1935 - 22 June 2009 in Moscow) was a Russian painter and art critic of Armenian origin. Her work is in the collections of the State Museum of Oriental Art, the Shchusev Museum of Architecture, and the Vorontsov Palace Museum. [1] [2] [3] [4]

Among her many awards and decorations are the State Prize of the Russian Federation and the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres. She was the President of the Pushkin Museum, a ceremonial post.

Armenian victims of the Great Purge included Armenian intellectuals, writers, artists, Bolshevik and later Soviet statesmen, military commanders, and religious figures. Orchestrated by Joseph Stalin, the Great Purge was a campaign of political repression and persecution in the Soviet Union against supposed "enemies of the people," including members of the Communist Party, the peasantry, writers and intellectuals, and other unaffiliated persons. The worst period, under NKVD head Nikolay Yezhov, was known as the Yezhovschina. In the years from 1936 to 1938, thousands of people suffered from Stalinist repressions in Soviet Armenia.

The Gayrabetov Mansion is a building in Rostov-on-Don, located on Liberty Square. The house was built in 1880. Initially it belonged to the relatives of merchant Karp Gayrabetov. At the beginning of the 20th century, the building was acquired by the manufacturer Mark Iskidarov. Since 2011, the Museum of Russian-Armenian Friendship has been located in the mansion. The Gayrabetov Mansion has the status of an object of cultural heritage of regional significance.
