On May 6, 2022, the New York Jets signed Charles to a three-year, $2.565 million contract as an undrafted free agent. [3] [4] On August 29, 2022, he was waived by the Jets. [3] [5] On August 31, 2022, the Jets signed Charles to their practice squad. [3] [5]

On January 7, 2023, the Jets signed Charles to their active roster on a one-year, $705,000 contract. [6] [4] He made the team's final roster for the 2023 season. [7] He was waived on September 16 and re-signed to the practice squad. [8] [9] He was promoted to the active roster on October 11, 2023. [10]
