Jenna Rosenow (born 5 January 1991) is an Australian television and film actress. After an early recurring role in children's television show Mako: Island of Secrets , Rosenow played Amber Turner in the soap opera Neighbours from 2013 to 2016. During her time in the serial, she received an Inside Soap Award nomination and appeared in the online spin-off Neighbours vs Zombies . After relocating to Los Angeles, Rosenow made guest appearances in Legends of Tomorrow and BH90210 . She plays the recurring role of Kimber Watts in the 2021 Netflix drama Firefly Lane , and appears in the mystery drama series One of Us Is Lying .

Early and personal life

Rosenow was born on 5 January 1991. [1] She grew up in Ballarat and attended school there. [2] After her mother enrolled her sister, who has Asperger syndrome, in acting lessons at the Geelong Screen Actors to help with her social skills, Rosenow also fell in love with acting and was enrolled there too. [2] The classes also helped to improve her confidence and she found she had a natural talent for acting. [3] She travelled to Geelong every week for lessons, and her parents eventually moved there when she was 18. [2] Rosenow worked in a gym, a café and in retail, before her acting career began. [2]

In 2015, Rosenow became an ambassador for Seeing Eye Dogs Australia. [4] Rosenow was engaged to fellow actor Chris Milligan whom she met on the set of Neighbours in 2013. [5]

Career

One of Rosenow's earliest roles was a recurring part in children's television show Mako: Island of Secrets . [3] She has also appeared in the television comedy pilot Paper Planes, short film Pale (2010) and feature film Border Protection Squad (2015). [2]

In November 2012, it was announced that Rosenow had joined the main cast of Australian soap opera Neighbours as Amber Turner. [6] Rosenow had previously made an appearance in the serial as an extra. [6] Of the casting process, she commented "It's very exciting. I auditioned for the role and got short-listed and had a call back, then was told I got the role." [6] Rosenow relocated from Geelong to Melbourne, where the show's studios are located, and made her debut as Amber on 7 February 2013. [6] For her work on Neighbours, Rosenow received a nomination for the Inside Soap Award for Best Daytime Star. [7] She was also longlisted for the Logie Award for Most Popular Actress. [3] In 2014, Rosenow played Amber in the web spin-off Neighbours vs Zombies . [8]

After three years of playing Amber, Rosenow decided to leave Neighbours at the conclusion of her contract. She told Noel Murphy of The Weekly Review that she would be moving to Los Angeles to pursue other acting opportunities. [2] She made her final appearance in 2016, as her character took a job opportunity in Queensland. [9] After leaving Neighbours, Rosenow made a guest appearance as Jane Austen in season 4 of The CW's Legends of Tomorrow . [10] She also played Stacy, a fitness influencer and the fictional wife of Ian Ziering in BH90210 . [11]

In February 2020, Rosenow joined the cast of Netflix drama Firefly Lane , opposite leads Katherine Heigl and Sarah Chalke. [12] Rosenow plays the recurring role of magazine editor Kimber Watts. [12] Rosenow described Kimber as "a young socialite who is trying to make a name for herself in the journalism world." [13] She said she would bring a bit of comedy to the show and is "a character you're going to love to hate". [13] Rosenow stars in the 2021 Lifetime thriller film Nobody Will Believe You (also known as Pretty Little Victim) with Emily Topper and John William Wright. [14] That same year, Rosenow played college girl Amber in the mystery drama series One of Us Is Lying , which is based on the novel of the same name by Karen M. McManus. [15]

Rosenow co-founded the production company Midnight Madhouse with actor Ella Cannon in 2022. They optioned the non-fiction novel The Tin Ticket by Deborah J. Swiss for a television drama. [16]

In April 2015, Rosenow announced her intention to leave at the end of her contract, and Amber departed on 8 January 2016. She made a cameo appearance on 5 April.

Josh Willis (<i>Neighbours</i>) Fictional character

Joshua "Josh" Willis is a fictional character from the Australian soap opera Neighbours, played by Harley Bonner. The actor was cast in the role after being persuaded to attend the audition by his agent. He began filming his first scenes in early February 2013. Bonner's character and his family were created and introduced to Neighbours, as part of an ongoing overhaul of the show's cast and renewed focus on family units within the show. He made his first screen appearance during "Episode 6646", which was first broadcast on 20 May 2013. Bonner left Neighbours to pursue new acting opportunities, and Josh was killed off during the episode broadcast on 5 April 2016.

"The Erinsborough Tornado" is a storyline from the Australian television soap opera Neighbours, which began on 29 August 2014 when a large storm hit the fictional suburb of Erinsborough and later developed into a tornado. The storyline was one of the dramatic events of Neighbours in 2014 and saw many characters' fates left in question, including long standing characters Paul Robinson and Lou Carpenter. The storyline was conceived following the success of 2013's wedding explosion and was shot in June 2014. Several wind and rain machines were used to create the storm and tornado effects. A promotional trailer for the storyline was released on 15 August 2014.

Neighbours is a long-running Australian television soap opera created by television executive Reg Watson. It was first broadcast on the Seven Network on 18 March 1985 and currently airs on digital channel 10 Peach. Since its inception, several spin-offs have been produced, including books, music, DVDs and internet webisodes. Several annuals and books by pulp fiction writer Carl Ruhen were released in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Barry Crocker's version of the theme tune was the first music release from the show, which also has included a Christmas album and the show's love theme. Two potential television spin-offs have reached the pilot stage, while five DVD box sets of Neighbours episodes from the beginning have been released. In 2013, Neighbours launched their first webisode series Steph in Prison. Several other webisode series' has since been released, with the most recent series SheilaTV becoming available from December 2018. Daniel Robinson (<i>Neighbours</i>) Fictional character from the Australian soap opera Neighbours

Daniel Robinson is a fictional character from the Australian soap opera Neighbours, played by Tim Phillipps. Daniel was created in 1992 as the son of iconic Neighbours couple Scott and Charlene. He was occasionally referred to in the episodes since then, but never seen on-screen. At the end of 2013, it was announced that Daniel would be introduced as a new family member for Paul Robinson. Auditions were held for the role, with producers stating that the actor would need to resemble his on-screen parents. During the casting process, Phillipps was approached for the role and, following a chemistry read with Dennis, was given the part. He had previously appeared in Neighbours in 2007. Phillipps relocated to Melbourne for filming and was initially contracted for 12 months. He made his first screen appearance during the episode broadcast on 29 April 2014. Two years later, Daniel was written out of Neighbours, and he made his departure on 26 April 2016. Phillips made an unannounced return in the first episode of the 2023 Neighbours reprisal.

Ariel Erin Kaplan is a South African-born Australian actress, singer and dancer. She is known for her roles as Lisa Atwood in the third season of children's series The Saddle Club and Imogen Willis in the Australian soap opera Neighbours.

Georgia Chara is an Australian television and theatre actress. After starting her acting career in her twenties, she made guest appearances in various television series', including Bed of Roses, Killing Time and Mr & Mrs Murder. In 2013, Chara was cast as Jess Lockwood in Home and Away. She also joined the cast of Wentworth in the starring role of Jess Warner. Chara appeared in the second and third seasons. In 2015, Chara starred as Wednesday in comedy series Sammy J & Randy in Ricketts Lane and made a guest appearance in Neighbours. She also made her stage debut in a production of Exit the King.

Firefly Lane is an American drama television series created by Maggie Friedman for Netflix. The series is based on the novel of the same name by Kristin Hannah. The series premiered on February 3, 2021, and navigates the lives of two teenage girls in the 1970s, all the way through to their adulthood in the mid 2000s. In May 2021, the series was renewed for a second season. In October 2022, it was announced that the second season would be its final season and would consist of 16 episodes, split into two parts. The first part of the second season was released on December 2, 2022, and the second part was released on April 27, 2023.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Erinsborough High Fire</span> 2015 Neighbours storyline

The "Erinsborough High Fire" is a storyline from the Australian television soap opera Neighbours that ran on 20 and 21 October 2015, airing over episodes 7237 and 7238. These episodes were broadcast on 4 and 5 November 2015 in the United Kingdom. The storyline sees the fictional Erinsborough High School engulf in a deliberately-lit fire, which leads to a long arson mystery. Involving half the cast, the storyline was Neighbours' big stunt event of the year and came about when Paul Robinson sells the school to Eden Hills Grammar for it to be closed, causing the staff and the students to protest in a school sleep-out. Many characters' have their storylines climaxed whilst being trapped in the fire, including the love triangle between Brad Willis, Lauren Turner and Terese Willis when Brad chooses to save Lauren over Terese. Expecting mother Amber Turner and Susan Kennedy are trapped in a classroom during the fire when Amber goes into labour and the two are forced to decide whether to "fight or flight" in "genuinely frightening" scenes.

<i>Neighbours</i> 30th Anniversary 2015 Neighbours storyline

The Neighbours 30th Anniversary was a series of celebrations to mark the 30th anniversary of Australian television soap opera Neighbours. The celebrations span over two weeks, beginning on 4 March 2015 in Australia, while starting on 18 March in the United Kingdom. The anniversary features many storylines, but points around Paul Robinson's Erinsborough festival and the wedding of Daniel Robinson and Amber Turner. The serial's executive producer, Jason Herbison, began planning the 30th anniversary over a year in advance. Over ten former cast members from all eras of the show were invited back to "honour the past and present". Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan were also invited, but they both downturned the offer. The celebrations marked Ian Smith and Anne Charleston's returns to Neighbours as Harold and Madge Bishop respectively. Madge was last seen during her death in 2001 and returns as a ghost in Harold's mind, which Herbison was initially worried would not be accepted by Charleston nor Smith, however both approved of it. The storyline was also popular amongst viewers.
